I truly beautiful and peaceful gateway. Just what was needed. Although there are some dirt roads to navigate getting there they are very well maintained. I suspect we will be back soon

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is situated in what seems to be a small valley. We used our time to walk into several directions including the rock pools and the bokmakierie trail. You have to walk this one as it takes you very high above the surroundings and gives you beautiful view all around. We regularly went to do our own game drives on the designated roads as we didn't had a 4x4 but still with a vehicle with high clearance. We saw a lot of Springbok, Gemsbok, Eland and Bontebok. We also did a bit of bird watching at the main dam early in the morning. The rest of the time just lounging around of course. The host was very responsive of our needs and questions. We would definitely be visiting Drie Kuilen again.

This is an ideal stay for a family or group looking for a countryside escape. The location is really beautiful with multiple spaces to live and spend time together. It’s a very thoughtfully-designed home. Note that there are residents pets in and around the house, which we did not mind.

We fell in love with the village of Stanford and the soul restoring River Home. This beautiful house is right on the river's edge and is a real treat (and retreat) to stay in. Just the place to surrender to nature, listen to the birdsong, rest and restore. We loved walking along the delightful river path. A short walk into the centre of town will bring you to several delightful restaurants. We ate at three of them (for lunch at Madré we enjoyed a really good pork belly with crispy skin and vegetables, at La Trattoria we had a feast of authentic Italian food and Agteros has a menu full of delightful South African dishes done with a modern twist). We also brownsed in some delightful homewear and gift shops. If you prefer eating at home, the kitchen at River House has everything you need to cook a gourmet meal. It is spotless, has a great gas hob and electric oven and a dishwasher for cleaning up after.

Susanne’s place exceeded our expectations. Spectacular house, spectacular views and we had a wonderful time.

Everything about this trip was amazing. The house is spacious, beautiful and modern. Great for multiple families. The valley is breathtakingly beautiful with a little stream for the kids to play in. Jannie was an incredible host from booking to checkout. Thank you for a wonderful trip.

This is home away from home for us. The personal thoughtful touches to the place is everything. I always look forward to the good nights rest at any of Elzettes cottages because of the comfortable beds and fresh linen! The cottage is stocked with anything you could have possibly forgotten to pack. Anything from Emergency kit, spices, insect repellent, shampoo, washing machine pods to wood provided for the hot tubs.We are also really greatful for accommodating our baby. A comfortable cot was set up for him with soft linen! Not forgotting our favorite part, the complementary fresh cows milk, baked bread and butter! thank you once again :)

Bit of a back story - we got married in Hermanus 30 years ago yesterday (30/4/95) at St Peters and had the reception at Beintangs se grot and we had our honeymoon at Smits - we were the first to use the house after we had bought it. This place is such a lovely place, tastefully decorated! What you see in the pictures is exactly what you find if not more in that lovely home. This was our second stay at Tranquil Retreat in Franschhoek, and it was just as amazing as the first. We loved it so much the first time that we rebooked for our wedding anniversary, and it didn’t disappoint. We were welcomed with a bottle of MCC to celebrate. The apartment was spotless, cozy, and beautifully decorated, with views of the Franschhoek mountains. We also appreciated the accommodation of a crib for our 5-month-old son. I highly recommend this place and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht in dieser tollen Unterkunft und wären gerne noch länger geblieben. Sehr sauber, schön eingerichtet und durchdacht. Lariez war zudem eine sehr zuvorkommende und herzliche Gastgeberin. Man kann sich in dieser Unterkunft einfach nur wohlfühlen.

We really enjoyed our time at the cottage. it was quiet and peaceful but close enough to all major sites and lots of restaurants. The cottage is well furnished and has more than everything you could need for a shor or long stay. The garden and patio are well furnished and make for a relaxing chill spot after a long day of sightseeing. Our pets were also well accommodated for and had a wonderful time playing in the garden.

The absolute magnitude of though effort and care that goes into this unit is unlike anything i have EVER seen. Been at many very expensive units and hotels that dont cater or care 10% as much. Kudos to Nina and Monica who went out of their way with everything! Super chuffed. Will be back no doubt.

Kyle was a proactive and super responsive host. I had to message him for assistance with the TV and he responded immediately. With his assistance we resolved the technical issue over the phone very quickly. The place was spotlessly clean, lines were crisp and comfortable. The location is central and ideal for longer stays. Highly recommended.

Very nice place. Picture perfect views, immaculate unit. Well organized, well equipped, piecefull and relaxing. Good braai area. We will be back !!!

I absolutely loved my stay. The farm is so scenic and peaceful. The cottage is much bigger than it looks on the photos. It had everything I needed and was very comfortable. There are loads to see and do. Especially if you love birds. Beautiful and easy walking trails. Perfect to break away. The hosts are kind, helpful and passionate about the farm.

Came here last year as I grew up in the hermitage and brought my Thai fiance and she just fell in love with the place. The animals, nature, mountains and friendly people. Love it here and came back longer this time and will be back every year.

Such a beautiful setting. Star gazing from the hot tub, walks in nature & cooling off in the new pool were my highlights!

Lovely cottage with beautiful views and surroundings. Great little fireplace to keep warm on those cold nights. They also supply you with plenty wood, which is really helpful. It is an excellent place to go rest and unwind from the busy city life.

We had such an amazing surprise when we arrived at Berry Guest Farm - Raspberry cottage. We had booked as a last minute break and due to the responsive host had just gone straight ahead without getting too much info. What a treat when we arrived with our 4 children. The farm is a child’s paradise with activities - from amazing zip lines, canoes that are free to use at any time, fishing, waterslides, warm pool, night time child friendly hikes with UV torches… the list goes on, but the plus is that the scenery and nature of the place makes it paradise for adults too. Surrounded by spectacular mountains, and a short distance from nature reserves with hikes, waterfalls, mountain trails and wildlife, well we were just spoilt for choice! We had no idea that the small airbnb we had booked offered all this and we will be sure to return with friends to book a few of the cottages and maybe even camp on the campsite. Note: the campsite was very close to the house but noise wasn’t an issue

A unique and fascinating experience. The huge remote property has history, bushman petroglyphs, game and lovely vista's. Owner Stevie was great company for his tour of the property and our first chance to really talk with a well-connected SA person. There are apparently several houses for booking on the property, depending how deep into the valley you want to go. Our cabana was much more stylish and new than pictures indicate. A couple notes: the cabin includes hot tub AND a plunge pool. No AC so you may find really hot days intolerable. Finally, the last hour of road there is rough (corrugated) gravel. To really explore the inner valley you need an off-road capable vehicle.

Absolutely amazing! The place is impeccable and caters for your every need. It was a beautiful stay. Thoroughly enjoyed the private jacuzzi and Daandre was kind enough to leave a camp cot for our stay with our baby! Thank you 🙏
