The place was welcoming, spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. This was important because we intended to stay in a lot and enjoy home cooked meals. The place felt homely and, with some basic provisions, we could settle in right away. The kitchen crockery, pots, pans etc were all clean and in excellent condition. There was plenty of choice for lounging and dining areas, with an indoor or more outdoor feel, and the surrounding natural landscape made for a beautiful and peaceful escape. Loved the outdoor swing between the tall trees which invited you to go outside. The seating around the grand firepit was excellent with beautiful decorative lighting. When the outdoor lights were off, we enjoyed expansive views of the Milky Way, by the fire. Additionally, we thought the host's dining recommendations in Ballarat and Daylesford were excellent, as was his communication. The getaway was just what we'd had in mind.

Our family had a wonderful time at Ricardo's house. Some family members were initially hesitant about the price but at the end of our stay everyone agreed that it was worth it and had a great time. The house was roomy enough to accommodate our group of 10, was tastefully decorated and had spectacular views from the floor to ceiling windows. There were lovely little touches upon our arrival: a handwritten welcome note, some delicious home-baked almond Sicilian cookies, and fresh eggs and milk in the fridge. The animals (alpacas and sheep) were entertaining and I grew particularly fond of a dear black-faced sheep who was often away from the rest of the flock, waiting near the fence wanting to be fed, like an enthusiastic puppy. Ricardo responded to all of our queries quickly and practically, which made our stay smooth and incident-free. The house was well-equipped and didn't want for anything.

We found this gem on short notice as we wanted to spend New Years at Daylesford with our dog. It was just the perfect place for my husband, me and our fur baby. It’s located right near the shops and you get your own private access to the Lake so I was able to spend each morning going for a run. Such a beautiful place! Just be mindful of the insects but you are staying by the lake, so just bring some repellent and you’ll be fine. Thank you again for hosting us, Sally!

Elsa’s beautiful shack in Mt. Egerton gave my wife and me the most wonderful four-night stay. It’s well-insulated and cozy, with a fully equipped kitchen. Wi-Fi is available, but it’s easy to disconnect and enjoy the tranquility. Set on farmland, we loved visits from her two gorgeous horses. The air is fresh, the nights peaceful, and Ballarat and Daylesford are an easy drive for day trips or supplies. Elsa was a friendly, reliable host who always responded promptly to any queries. My wife and I highly recommend Elsa’s shack to anyone considering a stay.

Our stay at Ann’s farm was so so beautiful. We loved the lake and the view. We had such a good time and Jock (their dog) was such a good host as well. Ann and Kevin were very accommodating and made our stay very memorable. We will definitely visit again.

What a gem! for a small group or family, this place is perfect. Our kids loved the house and yard while the adults relaxed on the patio. Perfect location, and well equipped house made for a smooth holiday with small kids. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely time at Robert and Jo’s place. The flat is very well-equipped and spacious and the location is convenient for catching the bus and the train into the city. Lots of beautiful hiking around as well. Robert and Jo are wonderful hosts and we felt right at home!

Peaceful and private location with everything you need within a 15 minute drive. There are several different areas to hang out in and around the house, offering space for large groups of guests. You can't beat the view from the lounge room though! Kitchen was well stocked with crockery and utensils and basic condiments. Overall, excellent spot for large family or friend gatherings. Just note the extra charges for additional guests/bedrooms. Lucy was very responsive and helpful. Plenty of instruction and information provided prior to and during the stay.
