Quiet, convenient location with easy access to Nijō Castle, Kiyomizu temple， Arashiyama, Kinkakuji temple and more. Our inn is a traditional townhouse built 123 years ago. It is equipped with Yukimi-mado, tokonoma (alcove), toriniwa , fusuma , tatami mats,and tsuboniwa. Relax in this quiet and comfortable home. Stay in an officially recognized Kyo-machiya, treasured for its historic Kyoto charm.

I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

Tsukihi House Kyoto is one of the traditional machiyas (townhouses) in Kyoto, built before 1945. The architectural design was carried out by Shigenori Uoya at the Shigenori Uoya Architects and Associates in Kyoto, and a full renovation was carried out while inheriting the original elements of Kyoto-style machiya.
