This house in Sandy Bay worked very well for me during 2 weeks working in downtown Hobart. The building itself is a curious creation of the 60s that has been split into a duplex (2 units in one building). The sharing arrangement can be a little confusing, since there are 3 separate AirBnB rooms in one unit (#2), and the owner of the other half of the building (#1) has no connection to the AirBnB rentals. Unit #2 has plenty of shared spaces, including the kitchen, living room, balconies, and basement. One deficiency is that there are no locks on the separately-rented bedrooms (although the rental company says they are hoping to install them some day). Fortunately, all other renters during my stay were pleasant and respectful, and I enjoyed meeting and trading stories with the different people as they came in. Overall, a great AirBnB experience!

Lovely little place surrounded by nature, would happily stay again!

We just love this guest house on Abel’s Bay! This felt just like home to us, full of books, shells, collectibles etc. It was private and oh so quiet. We enjoyed sneak peaks of the pademelons hopping about. Sean being a birder enjoyed the bird life too. We were very comfortable at the cottage and hated to leave. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. We likely will never make it back, but we will always have fond memories of you home.

What a wonderful stay at this beautiful family home. We were a group visiting Hobart for a wedding with 3 little ones and the place met all our needs. Easy self checkin, more spacious than we thought and having a bath and 3 toilets was a bonus. Sandy bay is a quaint area that’s suburban but walkable to cafes, supermarket and the wharves. Lisa was very responsive and helpful too. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This is NOT for distribution to other guests, but I hope it might be helpful for Fiona. The place is great but it is a bit unfriendly for the disabled, externally and internally.

Loved the stay at Karen’s place while on Bruny with our fur babies. Perfect little spot and very peaceful - felt right at home. Would highly recommend and stay again in the future!

Wonderful cottage beside the water. We had a few relaxing days enjoying the cottage. Sitting on the deck, listening to the birds and the water of Deep Bay was a delight and a great way to unwind. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway.
