A lovely rustic place close to everything you would need to enjoy Kangaroo Island. We loved the beach front and the character of the cottage. The best part was the enclosed courtyard, which was the selling point upon booking and didn’t disappoint. We brought 3 small dogs with us and left them in the courtyard whilst exploring the island for a whole day and it was the best set up for us!. Although the cottage was very no frills, it still felt very comfortable and relaxing.

What a lovely beach house, you feel at home straight away. Kitchen well equipped, large deck for relaxing. Private and peaceful, only a couple minutes walk the beach. If you get up early enough you will be treated to beautiful sunrises whilst sipping your morning coffee. You might even get a visit from a kangaroo or two. A number of choices to stay at KI but we definitely picked the right one!

This place was even better than the photos, super clean, stylish, and in a perfect location. Loved the little touches like fresh coffee and local recommendations, it really made the stay special.

This is truly an amazing escape - no neighbours, no noise, just a beautiful home in a serene location. The sunsets are PERFECT, wildlife and if you are lucky go to the beach in the morning and watch the dolphins only a few metres from shore. If you want the escape to recharge and relax this is it.

Fantastic views and lots of space to spend out with multi generational family. Accessible beach and pier for fishing - we caught our dinner one night. Fun to watch the 3 resident Koalas in trees across the street and local kangaroos in surrounding yards.

My husand and i stayed here for 6 days and ended up eloping at the accommodation site! It is truly beautiful and there are plently of fish to catch at the beach. Our location host tony was truly amazing and went above and beyond to make the trip unforgettable! We plan to make this our anniverasy spot! 10/10 the place is perfect for two looking to imerse themseves in the island with almost panoramic views from the bed and an almost private beach, this is your spot!

Lovely area, lots for the kids to do and safe. Close to the beach and a lovely walk along the beach to the Life Saving Club. House was nice but provisions in the kitchen very basic. We had a lovely weekend.

What an incredible getaway at Gabi and Jim’s accommodation! This place was worth every single penny and my group had the most wonderful stay. It felt luxurious from the first moment we pulled up to the property. The photos do not do this location justice. The house was spacious, it had every single possible amenity we could need, the kitchen was big, the bedrooms were comfortable, the outdoor space was fabulous to relax in. The pool was a winner though, heated, an incredible view at sunset, watching kangaroos hop by. We really couldn’t have stayed at a better place, it was such a lovely treat. Thank you for such a relaxing weekend, it won’t be forgotten and I would absolutely stay again.

Perfect stay for the family! Villa was so nice and extremely clean, village in which it’s located was great for the kids. We all had a great time, would definitely stay here again!

If you need to rediscover the best in life... this home is the perfect location to do so. A beautiful place within a beautiful place. Our host was very friendly and responded to all our inquiries promptly. Clear and easy instructions....and the property was even better than expected. A calm and welcoming energy, gloriously peaceful spot to share a few days with family and friends. The kitchen is a foodies dream..everything we needed and more. The pool area is great...rooms beautifully appointed..luxurious linen...spotlessly clean with subtle and intoxicating scents throughout. We appreciated the different spaces filled with books, games, TV's and art. The balcony views are tranquil and so very relaxing. We would definitely love to return and would recommend this property to anyone.

We had a wonderful few days at Hawks Nest and were very sad to leave this beautiful place. The location is amazing, with a pristine private beach, breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife, while the house is very comfortable with excellent amenities. My kids loved the pool and the beach and were very excited to watch the kangaroos every evening. Kirsty and Chris are fabulous hosts and were very welcoming. The guest wing feels private and yet the hosts are conveniently there offering useful information or a friendly chat. We only had three nights on Kangaroo Island, with a busy itinerary taking in just some of the many amazing sights and experiences. We wish we could have spent more time relaxing at the property and exploring the creek and beach so we're already planning a longer return visit to the Island and hoping we can stay at Hawks Nest again.

We loved our stay here, the communal areas on site are amazing and perfect for kids. The place was clean and the beds were very comfy!

Our third stay at Doyle's, and each time it feels like a home away from home. Beautiful surroundings, peaceful bush noises, modern amenities - this place has it all! So much space and plenty for everyone to do! The Starlink internet is SUPERFAST!! Thanks for that upgrade lol Special mention to Craig and Rachael, the wonderful custodians. They always go above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need. This time they wrote a beautiful card for us that really touched our hearts! ❤️❤️❤️

Alchemy Blue was exactly as we had hoped. Peaceful, immaculate and the most amazing location with beautiful wildlife and views everywhere you looked. Brent was a perfect host who bent over backwards to ensure our stay was as we had hoped. Can’t recommend Alchemy Blue enough. Will definitely book again for next year!!

We had 6 days here on Kangaroo Island and it was a great base. The house itself is well setup and has a great covered balcony with dining table and decent Weber Q BBQ. It is convenient to Kingscote which has a well stoked Drakes (supermarket) but nicely out of town so it is quiet and peaceful and had amazing night sky views when there was no cloud. Air conditioning unit upstairs was nice to cool the upstairs down and get out of the heat! It is very close to the beach but note it is not a good swimming beach - it is extremely shallow and very muddy; best at low tide but still not ideal! However there is a tidal pool in Kingscote 3-4mins drive down the road, or 20-25mins walk for those wanting to swim or cool down! We had a great stay, thanks.

We had a wonderful Easter with our grown up children, their spouses and our grandchildren. There was plenty of room for all of us, including 5 active children. The home was well equipped and the kitchen was large enough to make meal times hassle free. A large dining table was great for meals and board games. A front and back deck were good for informal snacks. We saw lots of dolphins from the front deck while having breakfast! The hosts were very responsive and friendly. We had such a wonderful time and we plan to come back again. Thank you to Robin and Liam. Jenny C

Unbelievable magical beach location the pictures don’t do this amazing place justice. Everything you need incredible hidden restaurant next door in a massive Fig Tree. Port Lincoln Fishing Adventures absolutely amazing fishing charter Gavin and Alex were fantastic went home with an esky full fish . Again word don’t describe the senery breathtaking remarkable beautiful don’t do this place justice. If you have been my advice is just go … Enjoy

Great location with a fantastic view. Could do with a few upgrades but overall I would have no issues coming back again. Both host excellent service and always answered my questions. The view is the best on the island in my opinion.

The absolutely perfect hideaway, exactly as Hugh, the owner, describes. The house is beautifully presented with everything top quality, but also a lot of personal touches, such as ornaments and books. A great bonus was the sheer number of bird species visiting the water dishes - we identified 21 with the help of an excellent guide book which goes with the house. Good shops and decent pub/restaurant in nearby Penneshaw.
