The Griffin is a functioning riverboat, driven by paddle wheels, originally modeled after historic Mississippi steamboats. It is located at a mom and pop boat yard, which is quite different from a fancy marina. Work happens here. Metal is welded here. Engines are torn apart and put back together here. Beautiful, comfortable, hand-built RUSTIC cabin with two full-sized beds. Instant book AFTER you have read our page details (no shower!) Young kids not recommended or those who are challenged climbing stairs! Adventurers paradise! 30 minutes to Duluth. Kitchenette, rustic toilet, bedding, bottled water, wood stove, solar power OFF-GRID (no fridge or power capacity for C-PAP), hiking trails, picnic table, fire ring. Well-behaved/housebroken pets only. Leash & NEVER leave alone when you are out.

Riverwood Hideaway

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.
