Five minutes drive from town or a fifteen-minute walk. Ideal for both winter and summer. Useless Towers got the name from good friends who stayed, and the name has stuck. Situated on the sunny side of the hill "The Large House" is one of the oldest homes in Napier. Built in the 1880's it has grand rooms, ornate fireplaces, high ceilings, spacious balconies and is surrounded by a wild organic garden which is very secluded. We provide breakfast in the conservatory. Relax on the sun dappled balcony and experience sea views and birdsong whilst surrounded by large mature trees. Magnolia Cottage

Enjoy the quiet area. Listen to all the native birds, swim in the pool, take a walk in our lovely area, or simply relax in the spacious cottage with a drink. Inside, go up the spiral stairs to the cozy mezzanine bedroom (please note that it's low up there). The unique stairs are from the old star observatory on Titirangi (the local maunga/mountain)! The sofa bed in the lounge can sleep 2. There is no kitchen, but there is a kitchenette with microwave, toaster and kettle.
