Stayed for three nights as a base to explore the Golden Circle sights and Landmannalaugar in the highlands - was perfect for that purpose. Had hoped to explore the geothermal area nearby as well, but heavy rain disrupted plans. The apartment is large, bright and comfortable with a full kitchen that had everything we needed for cooking. Looks just like the pictures. Grocery store (Bonus) close by, as is a great local brewery within walking distance. The local pool is a hidden gem with a 50m pool and hot tub, only about 1km away from the apartment - soaked away part of a rainy afternoon there. We found it difficult at first to locate the specific unit as there are multiple buildings and the numbering is hard to follow. A tip is that it backs onto the commercial greenhouses behind the complex, so find those and you'll be close.

Felt right at home. I've never stayed in someone's home before on Airbnb, but Mikael made us feel right at home. Having a ton of space, a full kitchen, access to laundry space was invaluable for our trip. Although we didn't have a chance to use the hot tubs they looked clean and spacious. In retrospect, we would have spayed longer because there is just so much to see in just an hour drive radius around the town. Would highly recommend!

Our family of six adults really enjoyed spending Christmas and New Year's at Bjork's place. It was warm and cozy, with underfloor heating keeping the slate tiles toasty, a big couch in the living room, and lots of windows to enjoy the views. The hot tub was amazing and we had stunning northern lights one night. The house is in a gated community a couple km off the road, and this road can be slippery, so a 4x4 car or jeep might be a good idea in winter. These same quiet roads were great for walks - not much traffic and wonderful views in any direction you choose to walk. The trash/recycling center handled all sorts of materials - even organics! Bjork was really helpful, going above and beyond to check out holiday hours for grocery stores and help us locate jumper cables. The house is a 15 minute drive to Selfoss (shoutout to Kronan) and 8 minutes to Kerid Crater. Hveragerdi is 20 minutes, with a wonderful bakery, a geopark where for a small fee you can boil an egg in a hot spring.

Great location, close to the golden circle. We were able to see the northern lights right at backyard. The two cats are cute and friendly. Sigmar was very responsive!

The luxury villa was all we could ask for and more. The location is fantastic right across from Kerid crater and easy access to all the hot spots. The villa is nicely appointed with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was magnificent! My only advice would be to allow the outside motion light the ability to be shut off. We woke up at midnight both nights to see the northern lights but the lights out front kept coming on. Would be great if they could be shut off for optimal viewing. Otherwise everything was fantastic and I highly recommend this villa!!

Stefan was a great, communicative host with an amazing rural property. Conveniently located around 15 mins from Selfoss, which has a bunch of shops, restaurants, etc amd well placed for scenic drives to loads of beautiful locations across the SW of Iceland and beyond. The house was amazing and felt brand new. I would reccommend this to any group of friends or couples who want a peaceful, private stay in beautiful surroundings.

Absolutely fantastic stay in Iceland! This house was truly a home away from home. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how well-stocked and thoughtfully prepared everything was. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals, which was a huge plus considering the cost of eating out in Iceland. The living area was cozy and perfect for relaxing after long days of exploring. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the linens were nice. We loved having access to the washing machine and dryer. The Wi-Fi was strong and reliable, and the smart TV was great for winding down in the evenings. The location was ideal for exploring Golden Circle and South Coast. We found it easy to access local shops and restaurants, and the neighborhood was peaceful and quiet. Overall, this Airbnb exceeded our expectations. This place is great! Very cozy and close to the golden circle and Selfoss, which has great restaurants! We especially enjoyed the cozy vibe of the interior furniture and kitchen. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and cold plunge combo. Magnús was really responsive when we had questions, and even got on the phone to walk us through how to fill the hot tub and turn off the lights so we could better view the aurora!

Wonderfully proactive communication made for an easy self-check in. House was spacious and charming. All the listed amenities were available, though we didn’t stay long enough to use all of them. Try the local restaurants — especially the bistro— they’re amazing!
