We definitely recommend this place!! Beautiful location surrounded by the mangroves, really idyllic and easy to access. 15 min walk to the beach, 5 min to Lichthouse and 2 min to the creak. Great chef and support staff that made sure we all we needed. Absolutely beautiful, great common spaces and comfortable.

My friend and I celebrated a birthday here and stayed for five nights. It took us a little time to adjust, but once we did, we had an amazing and high-quality stay. The Popo house was perfect spacious, well-equipped, and featuring a big pool and a fully functional kitchen that we made great use of. Popo House is located on the sunrise side, allowing us to wake up early and enjoy breathtaking sunrises. Every morning, we could walk down and watch the local people working on their seaweed plantations, which was a unique and fascinating experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the two incredible dogs, Millie and Poppy. They took care of us throughout our visit, providing both companionship and security. At night, they would bark if they sensed unfamiliar people, yet they were so well-trained never entering the house uninvited or stealing food. They were truly polite and loving, and saying goodbye to them was the hardest part. Overall, we absolutely loved this place. It’s perfect!

We had a great stay at the property and suitable for little children. Rachel the housekeeper welcomed us and came daily, the property had everything we needed for a long week end stay. The beach was a few meters from the house with an Askari (guard) on the gate and an Askari on the main gate so you felt safe. The pool is wonderful just what was needed to cool off in the heat. We chose to have a chef, John, who bought all the groceries and fish and prepared everything requested even during a power cut he produced our evening meal. Would definitely recommend this place.

Lorine’s place is amazing! I feel like the antique furniture and aesthetics of the colonial styles was flawless! I will definitely be recommending this place to all of my friends in the future. Absolute rustic beach-front paradise and such a lovely team of staff! Ocean views are stunning and tennis court is a lot of fun. Jacquie is amazingly responsive and so helpful. Thank you so much!

ici tout est OK ! un emplacement comme il y en a peu je pense , ayant voyage en avril , nous étions proche de la plage privée ! l équipe est au top ! le breakfast en face de la mer est copieux ,préparé et servi avec soin par Rama et son équipe. Vous pouvez également leur faire confiance pour ce qui serait de l ordre des divers centres d intérêts.Poir ma part bois avons nage avec les dauphins ,organisé par haji ,un membre de la team .Vraiment cool et d un bon rapport qualité prix ! Entre une mer magnifique et un village authentique ,favorisant les échanges avec les locaux .franchement au top !je recommande sans hésiter !!!

Abdillah was patient and waited for me even though I arrived late by bus. He made me feel at home by taking me on an evening walk around Lamu and showing me great places to eat. He also recommended a reliable captain who took me to Takwa Island and Jaluo Village at a fair price. I truly enjoyed my short holiday in Lamu thanks to Abdillah. If I visit Lamu again, this is definitely a place I will consider staying at.

The pictures of the house don’t do it justice , the house is a work of art, extremely comfortable and well designed. We enjoyed everything about this place and the staff are lovely and accommodating. We would stay here again and again.

Amazing experience, we loved staying in Mikhail's house! You can feel and see the care put in every detail, both in the house and in the garden. The surrounding is peaceful while still being in the heart of Diani town with access to all main shops and restaurants. The compound has also a direct private access to the beach, well secured. The swimming pools are clean and great when travelling with children, sunbeds are comfortable and practical, and in the garden there are external showers and a bar space. The terrace is very cosy and perfect to spend quality time all together. The house is beautiful, with very spacious rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, very clean and with all the necessary space for your things. Esther, the lady managing the day-by-day stay, is very responsive and helpful in case of anything. We enjoyed our stay, we will definitely return. Totally recommended!

We had a wonderful 4 nights stay with family of 5. The owner responded quickly, send us very detailed information of all you need to know and arranged pick up at Mombasa airport. The staff is very friendly, helpful and at the same time gives you privacy. Reuben the chef provided us splendid meals, we especially enjoyed all the fresh seafood!Recommended is to do shopping before arrival because bigger supermarkets are 40 minutes drive away. Fruits, vegetables, water, fish, soda’s are easy to get in the village but for more luxurious groceries you have to go to the bigger supermarkets. You can book the pick up from the airport with a shopping stop in Nyali. Neen Tree is a lovely family house with marvellous view and direct access to the ocean. A friendly monkey family lives on the property and are fun to watch. Besides the pool we loved going snorkelling on the rif using the equipment from the house. For transport we used Tsuma with a comfortable 7 seater which we used for a Kilifi trip.

Great stay at the Kijiji cottages, exactly as advertised. Christine, who welcomed us was amazing and we also loved having Chef Omollo provide home cooked meals for us. The location is perfect, with a short private walk to the beach with lots of activities and restaurant and grocery stores nearby. Was very safe and friendly all around. Would definitely book again!

We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful beach house! The views were stunning, the space was clean, cozy, and well maintained, and the staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Perfect spot for relaxing, unwinding, and making great memories. Highly recommend it, we’ll definitely be back, in shaa Allah!

Grosses Anwesen mit schönem Pool und herrlicher Gartenanlage direkt am Strand mit traumhaften Blick auf die Palmen und das Meer. Wir wohnten zu viert im Haupthaus im Obergeschoss mit zwei Schlafzimmern und sehr grosser überdachter Terasse, die die Schlafzimmer verbindet. Die Küche war hervorragend, im Vorfeld muss man bis auf die Meersfrüchte das Meiste selbst einkaufen. Drei sehr nette Bedienstete, die nebenan in einem kleinen Haus wohnen, umsorgten uns wunderbar. Den Beachboys sollte man nichts geben, dann verschwinden sie auch nach einiger Zeit. Den Bediensteten gaben wir je 2000 ks. Trinkgeld.Alles in Allem: paradiesisch.

Dolphin House is a truly unique place and experience. The position directly on the beach is priceless - I could never get sick of the view! There's a good balance of home comforts and the privacy of the house with still feeling connected with the outside, the community and just generally being in Zanzibar. We spent all of our time in the outside space - rotating between the sofas, the loungers on the beach, the table and the pool. It's incredibly well thought out and comfy! Rudy and his local team were always on hand. The chefs, in particular, are exceptional - while you are handy for plenty of restaurants and bars, we enjoyed every breakfast and most of our dinners at the villa. When you have the best spot on the beach, there was very little reason to leave!

Absolute Empfehlung - wunderschönes Ferienhaus, genau wie auf den Fotos abgebildet, richtig toller kleiner Pool (der täglich gereinigt wird), super Ausstattung, wunderbare Terasse auf der wir hauptsächlich gelebt haben. :) Wir waren als Familie mit 10-jährigem Kind hier und haben uns mehr als wohl gefühlt. Top Rundum-Betreuung durch Bayuu (Manager), Hunani (Putzfee - mit ihr haben wir u. a. eine super Chilli-Sauce nach einheimischem Rezept gekocht) und Ikram (Pool- und Gartenpflege) sowie den netten Nachtwächtern. Kleine Oase! Unbedingt rausgehen und die Leute und Shops vor Ort besuchen, nicht nur am Strand rumhängen. ;) Jambiani bietet (aktuell noch) eine super Mischung aus Gastroangeboten und kleinen, entspannten Hotels und ganz "normalem" Dorfleben. Bist Du offen und lässt Dich auf "hakuna matata" ein, wirst Du hier eine fantastische Zeit haben. Wir haben uns zu keiner Zeit Sorgen gemacht um die oft erwähnte Kriminalität - auch Abendspaziergänge im Dunkeln waren kein Problem.

We had great time. Very convenient to reach the tourist attractions and restaurants. The host was super and responded promptly.

We were a family of 5; 2 adults and 3 kids aged 14 year old, 5 year old and a 2 year old. Charlottes place was amazing. We loved everything! The staff at the house make sure you are comfortable. They cleaned everyday and we had clean towels daily. The guard Suleiman, is great to book excursions if you need, a very friendly man. We hired a chef called Katana, whom Charlotte recommended. His food was fantastic, delicious and nutritious. Just let him know your preference like swahili dishes, or other dishes and he will make it. We had him make Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Polly the manager, is at the site and she can help you if you have questions, she is very responsive and friendly. I recommend this place for families with small kids and teenagers. The pool is another gem in this house. Thank you Charlotte, we miss your house already ❤️

Simone was een geweldige host! Reageerde super snel. Saïd haalde ons van het vliegveld en stond altijd paraat. Mtumwa poetse geweldig! Brandschoon. Bedden werden elke 4 dagen heerlijk verschoond. Bij uitval van electriciteit en water was er een generator. Fijn! Strand voor de deur niet echt schoon, maar klein stukje lopen en je hebt een fijn strand. In huis een info map met allerlei tips voor uitstapjes. Je kunt de hulpzame Saïd als chauffeur vragen, of iemand anders. Kinderen uit de buurt spelen voor de deur op het strand. Wij hebben er van genoten! Zet om 17.30 je stoel op het strand en kijk naar de visserbootjes die met hun vangst terugkomen. Het huis heeft een heerlijke veranda met eettafel en stoelen, waar je kunt ontbijten etc. Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf van 4 weken gehad en danken Simone voor de goeie communicatie! Tip: neem eea voor de kinderen mee. Ze zijn echt arm.

Wonderful stay. One of it’s kind. Worth every penny. Ken, our cook, prepared nothing but a variety of delicious meals. Josephine, the adorable, is a very unique lady with a heart of gold. Rachelle, the manager, made our stay very remarkable. As far as the guards, they went above and beyond at making sure we were safe and well cared for. This place is s gem, and if accepted back, we will definitely visit again. If ever up for sale, please let us know. My family would love to call that property home. We have fallen in love with Watamu, but most especially Doum Palm. We are truly so grateful to have found this beautiful house. We loved everything about it, our kids felt right at home, the walk to the beach was so easy which was great to go back and forth between the pool and sea everyday. A stunning spot, surrounded by beautiful trees, peaceful and quiet. Innocent, Maggie, Rehema & Dan are an absolute joy and made everything about our stay so easy. Innocents food was delicious, with small children, eating out isn’t always easy but we didn’t feel the need with the food that Innocent produced and always went out his way to find us the best fresh sea food! We would not hesitate to come back to Doum Palm and already planning a trip for next year! we look forward to recommending this quaint and peaceful spot to our friends and family. Thank you to the hosts for all the recommendations on places to go, taxis, Tuk Tuk etc. we made great use of it all. We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful view and very spacious. Great places to visit and things to do nearby. Jet skiing a few miles away was really fun. Will definitely return there in the future.

The stay at Papaya House was fantastic. Nina was an amazing host and made sure all was going smoothly during our time there. The staff, Daniel and Safari, have been more than helpful and pleasant to be around. The food was delicious and the place was spotless. Shela is a cozy little town and from the house everything is walkable easily. The house itself is just gorgeous- the beautiful garden, the interior design and more than plenty of space to hang out or enjoy the stars at night. We hope to come back one day!
