Historic Linton Post Office

Welcome to the historic Linton Post Office. This beautiful character filled building was built in 1880 and operated as the Telegraph / Post Office and Post Masters residence for over a century. There are many reminders of the past displayed throughout the charming house. The picturesque township of Linton has a rich history with European settlement dating back to 1839 and the first gold found in 1855 and continued to be found until 1880's.

Our mud brick home, is surrounded by eucalyptus trees and is bordering on the Enfield State Forest. The 3 bedroom home is an ideal quiet and peaceful escape from urban life, featuring a wood heater, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and laundry with a washing machine. Kangaroos often visit our backyard to feed on the grass. Lots of native birds can be spotted. We had a Tawny Frogmouth nest near the house and even a koala visit, recently.

Perfect escape in the country! This cottage is in the back of the owner's place and totally independent. Enjoy the fantastic location this "love shack" is set in - explore the area, see lots of wildlife and take a break from the city! Set on the edge of a national park, there are lots of walks & bike riding trails around. You are welcome to pat, feed and play with the horses. There are also push bikes and fishing rods you can use.

"The Hut" is in a convenient location close to Geelong, Ballarat/Sovereign Hill and Daylesford. It will take approx. 40 minutes scenic drive through beautiful countryside to get to those places. Step inside and you will be greeted with a large open-plan layout. There are 2 bedrooms - on the left we have 2 King Single beds with a stereo system, and on the right, we have 1 x brand new Queen bed with a 32" TV.
