Off Grid Converted Sugar Shack

This little rustic OFF GRID converted sugar shack is perfect for a quiet getaway. There are 2 solar panels that feed the lighting and water pump; limited, non-drinking water for the 2 sinks (summer only); and compostable toilet. There is no shower, no oven and no fridge. A cooler, an urn of drinking water and firewood are provided. The shack is on our 35 acre property, with our home 500ft down the lane. You will have access to our property to walk through the maple forest and wildflower meadow.

It is a 10 min hike to the Escarpment Lookout, and roughly a 25 min hike to your CANOE on a small lake. There is a picnic table, firepit, outdoor gazebo bar, seasonal outdoor shower and private outhouse. The cabin comes with a map of 30km of TRAILS for you to hike or snowshoe. No neighbours within 500m in any direction. Possibility of occasional guest cars going past.

1866 Pre-Conferderation Log Cabin at Gerber's

Feel like a pioneer but with all the comforts of modern life. The original pioneer cabin on our 340 acre farm. Built when Queen Victoria was on the throne, the axe marks are still visible on the logs. Made by hand in 1866 we added modern amenities. Kitchen with fridge and stove, three piece bath and smart tv. The Guest House

Our guest house is a cozy log cabin with three floors. It is the original homesteader cabin to our property, revived and restored with care. Nestled in the Bonnechere region of Renfrew County, this magical place of solitude offers nature right outside your door. Local paintings by Ottawa Valley landscape artist Angela St. Jean displayed throughout the cabin feature lakes, rivers, and natural places and spaces that surround us.
