This traditional Kyomachiya, built over 100 years ago, has been carefully renovated to preserve its original charm while ensuring a comfortable stay for our Western guests. Located just a 10min walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple and the Gion district, it offers the perfect setting to immerse yourself in the beauty of historic Kyoto. The surrounding area is dotted with renowned café, restaurant, and numerous kimono rental shops. Above all, you can relax in the tranquility of its peaceful environment.

I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

【Kyotofish・Miyagawa】Geisha Ochaya

Located in Miyagawacho, one of Kyoto’s traditional geisha districts, on a quiet lane often considered among the most beautiful streets in the city. The house was originally a teahouse, a more refined type of building than a typical machiya and closely tied to geisha culture. Many original details remain, including a rare Hako-kaidan staircase crafted about 150 years ago. The house now features full floor heating, and accommodates a maximum of four guests to preserve a calm atmosphere.

Our house Unoan is a 100-year old machiya that has been beautifully renovated into a luxurious accommodation for short stays. You can rent the whole house. The house is in an excellent location with easy access to popular sightseeing spots such as historical Gion area, Yasaka Shrine, Kiyomizudera Temple, Sanjusangendo Temple, and Fushimi Inari Shrine. The main shopping areas, department stores and the Pontocho dining and entertainment district are all within easy walking distance.
