English Channel: soggiorni in castelli

We hadden een heerlijk verblijf in deze rustieke boerderij met 6 volwassenen en 2 kinderen. Perfect om tot rust te komen in het groen. Ook een hele goede uitvalsbasis voor daguitstapjes naar de kust. Wij hebben genoten!

Sejour ideal pour deux famille avec des enfants capables de partager des lits superposés. Pas de wifi, mais justement on n’est pas au chateau de Beaumesnil pour passer son temps sur le web. Le veritable interet de ce gite qui reste cher c’est l’accés PRIVILEGIÉ au parc du chateau qui est la plupart du temps fermé : une porte du gite donne sur l’interieur du chateau, avec un access dans un immense jardin plein d’animaux de fermes, un paradis pour les gamins. paon, oies, moutons, canards, bouc, poney. Nous avons meme pu faire la visite du chateau de Beaumesnil gratuitement, le pont-levis était baissé. Le chauffage marche parfaitement bien. Seul Repproche : il manquait un tire-bouchon… et ca… mériterait presque une étoile en moins haha. Cher, mais EXCELLENT RAPPORT QUALITE PRIX pour des familles avec des enfants entre 5-12 ans, surtout pour découvrir la campagne. Hotes très proactif, sympa, l’accueil du chateau en appui. Arrivée et départ super flexible. (on est parti vers 17h) Bravo !!!

Le gîte est une partie du château. Le site est magnifique, très calme avec un parc immense. Idéal pour réunir une grande famille.

Due to the fantastic photos on Airbnb our expectations were already high, but reality by far exceeded all our expectations. We really spent a perfect week in the wonderful Garden Apartment in Acton Castle. Maybe the most impressive is the incredible view over the bay of Penzance with the spectacular St. Michael's Mount as its central point. You can enjoy this fantastic view from the living room, from the breakfast table or even when doing the dishes in the kitchen. Another highlight is the garden which is really beautiful with a nice pond, wonderful plants and flowers and many great places to sit and enjoy the view. Also the 18th century Acton Castle is a very beautiful and really impressive building. The apartment is ideal for a family like ours with 2 children. The main sleeping room has its own bathroom with toilet and shower. The main bathroom has a bathing tub with shower and another toilet. The appartment has two floors. Sleeping rooms and bathrooms are in the basement, while living room and kitchen are in the first floor with its incredible view. The appartment offers a lot of space for a family of four and we weren't missing anything. You reach the costal path within two minutes from the garden. We did a very nice walk to St. Michael's Mount. Acton Castle is also a good starting point for many activities in the area. You can easily reach Penzance, St. Ives, the Lizard Peninsula and many, many more great places by car. There are several big supermarkets in the direction towards Penzance which you can reach within 10 minutes by car. Garden Apartment in Acton Castle is a really perfect place to spend a perfect holiday and we definitely give a 5 star recommendation. Thanks to Tim for giving us the possibility to enjoy this great place and the area around it.

Our stay at Chateau Le Mont Epinguet surpassed all of our expectations-- it's truly beautiful and Fiona and Mark are beyond friendly. We went as a group of 18 and still found the house incredibly spacious-- you'll never be on top of one another! The gardens outside are lovely and provide lots of spots for sunbathing/reading (and so spacious we even got in a game of rounders). The kitchen has as much crockery as you might ever desire; there are several excellent and large supermarkets within a 15 minute drive (better quality produce and more economical than any British supermarket). Above all-- I cannot express the warmth and kindness of Mark and Fiona-- they're exceptional hosts who attended to any queries we had and provided a wealth of excellent beach & restaurant recommendations. A beautiful chateau, a wonderful (eccentric) interior, with lovely gardens (esp. the palm trees), and great for friends who wish to spend some time stuck together.

The chateau was everything we thought it would be from the moment we drove through the gate. The serene setting was welcoming and inviting. The gardens and landscaping were lush and picturesque. Upon entering the front door, we felt like we’d been transported to the 16th century. Wood floors, flowing draperies and richly colored walls all add to the general ambiance. There are numerous bedrooms from which to choose, playrooms for children, spacious living and dining rooms and a kitchen meant for gathering. The kitchen is well stocked and the fireplace warms the rooms and its inhabitants. The two outdoor tables provide opportunities to enjoy the setting while sipping wine or eating a meal, Marc was very accommodating. He offered suggestion for things to do and places to shop in Sartilly.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour chez Monique, à la découverte du Cotentin. Le logement est dans un endroit paisible où il fait bon de profiter de la terrasse. Le tout était très propre.

Een echt ruim huis met grote tuin, terras, grote eetkamer, fijne slaapkamers en goed uitgeruste keuken voor een groep van 18 personen. Wij hebben er een fantastisch lang weekend van mogen genieten.

Had a wonderful weekend at Northcourt house. Beautiful property with everything we needed. Clean rooms and a well equipped kitchen. Perfect when you travel and cook for a larger group of people. Peaceful surroundings and James is a helpful and friendly host.

The property was absolutly wonderful, the photos don’t do it justice! I particularly appreciated the garden with its beautiful array of trees and patches of forest. The estate was so vast I dont think we made it to the edge. The house was extremly private and out of sight of any neighbours. The house itself was spacious and comfortable, so were the beds. I was working online and the internet connection was good, even with multiple connections, with a very nice dedicated workspace. The kitchen had every appliance imaginable, with enough crockery for a banquet! While I was there the trees were ripe with fruit and we were treated to pears, apples, rasberries, blackberries, stawberries, grapes and more. The chickens generously provided us with fresh eggs every morning and the peacocks were not only beautiful to watch but also friendly. Not to talk about the wild forna including squirels, pheasents, woodpekers and other small birds… It was a pleasure meeting Philippe who not was an excellent host; showing us around the property and being helpful with our questions, but also an excellent cook, perparing traditional french food for us per our request. He was fun to be around. Overall a great experience, we are already planning when we can visit again!

Nous avons passé un week-end exceptionnel au manoir du Four à Chaux, malgré une météo capricieuse. Le cadre est absolument magnifique et les prestations étaient à la hauteur de nos attentes. Tout était parfait, que ce soit l’accueil chaleureux, la propreté des lieux ou le confort des installations. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir et recommandons vivement cet endroit pour un séjour inoubliable

We had a wonderful stay at the Chateau to celebrate the New Year. You really have to see it to believe how charming this Chateau is - our children wanted to stay there forever! It’s totally unique and a truly great experience. Nina and her Father were the perfect hosts - helpful with all of our questions and providing great recommendations for what to see and do in the area. We wish we could have had more time there!

Such a fabulous place, really really stunning. The 360 degree roof terrace was a fabulous bonus. Easy walk to pubs and The Hut. A perfect space to chill out in.

The castle is just as described, if not better - it feels both cozy and expansive at the same time. It is warm and welcoming, and the surrounding village is charming. Plus, there are plenty of unique sites and places to explore within a 15–20 minute drive. For a relaxing and special experience, Xavier’s place was perfect.”

Was heerlijk om een week hier te verblijven. Alles goed geregeld, en goede ontvangst. Hebben genoten van ons verblijf op deze locatie. Verder is de supermarkt en andere dingen goed aan te rijden, dus genoeg om te doen in de omgeving.

Nous avons séjourné au château à l'occasion de l'enterrement de vie de jeune fille de ma sœur, et nous avons passé un week-end des plus agréables. Tout est pensé pour le confort des invités, et le cadre du château invite à la convivialité et à la bonne humeur. Myriam, l'hôte, est très chaleureuse et nous a fourni des indications parfaites pour rendre notre séjour encore plus agréable. Je recommande vivement cet endroit pour un moment inoubliable.

Nous avons réservé à la dernière minute et André fut très réactif. Réservation faites la veille au soir pour le lendemain… La longère est tout simplement fantastique et rénovée avec goût! Très calme et pourtant dans l‘hyper centre ville avec toutes les commodités à proximité. Pour les chineurs, on peut y acheter des objets ou bien les peintures de notre hôte Gaëlle! Cerise sur le gâteau, il y a un jacuzzi dans le parc centenaire! C’était génial de faire une pause détente sous les étoiles début Novembre ! Pour les mélomanes, il y a tout l’équipement nécessaire avec vinyles, CDs ou pour les cinéphiles DVDs ou Netflix…. C‘est vraiment une location exceptionnel sur la région! L’accueil qui nous a été réservé fut également très agréable tout comme lors du départ. On reviendra avec bonheur chez André et Gaelle! Dalila, Chloé et Éric

Un studio très bien équipé dans un cadre magnifique, des hôtes accueillants et réactifs, le tout situé aux abords du magnifique port d'Audierne, que du positif ! Je recommande vivement.

What a wonderful and underrated spot. Firstly, Wilfrid was an amazing host. Always available, very attentive, and Gallic hospitality at its best. He was extremely flexible in all aspects (from check-in, use of spa, and time to eat breakfast). We mistakenly slept in one morning and we were able to eat a proper breakfast at 1130. Extremely clean and a serene environment. A very immersive Normandy experience. The house is very old but fully renovated as it is a passion project for Wilfrid who has spent generations in the house.

🌟 5/5 - Un week-end parfait dans un lieu exceptionnel ! Nous avons passé un week-end absolument génial dans ce magnifique Airbnb. Le logement est spacieux, très bien décoré et parfaitement équipé. La piscine a été un vrai bonheur, surtout avec le beau temps que nous avons eu, et le coin barbecue a largement contribué à l’ambiance conviviale de notre séjour. Petit bémol : la route pour accéder au logement n’était pas évidente à trouver au départ, et une ampoule ainsi qu’un pommeau de douche ne fonctionnaient plus à notre arrivée. Heureusement, le concierge a été très réactif, disponible et super flexible — tout a été réglé rapidement ! La propreté était correcte, et la communication avec les hôtes a été fluide et agréable du début à la fin. Un grand merci encore pour cette belle parenthèse. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !
