Absolutely brilliant weekend with the wife, just what we wanted, a quiet peaceful getaway, secluded with privecy, very clean and comfortable, the hot tub was lovely and clean, all the essentials needed if wanting to cook etc, we opted for a local takeaway one night, menus in the cabin or use just eat etc, then hit Leeds the next day, I would highly recommend to anyone, and I would stay again, if you like glamping, this for me is 10 times better, no other pods near you, pure bliss with lovely surrounding views, especially on a night, the cabin has lights around the top, the hot tub has lights, and all you can hear are the birds, all in all it was a fantastic experience and Lee was always at hand for anything we needed, and answered any questions swiftly, I'd recommend to anyone without a second thought and plan to return again in the future.

The setting for the Shepard's Hut is nothing short of breathtaking, an amazing setting that cannot be bettered. Beautiful views, walks and castle. I cannot recommend this place enough, and, the local pub is brilliant and very welcoming

The Hut is a perfect slice of quiet. It was precisely what we were looking for. It had everything we needed wrapped in a beautiful rustic decor and even more beautiful surroundings. We couldn’t have asked for more when we thought of a short getaway to the countryside. Thank you Sean & Hayley

We had a very peaceful and relaxing few days, the place was lovely and had everything you could possibly need, Peter was responsive and helpful with directions made it stress free, left us a bottle of wine on arrival which was a lovely addition, would definitely recommend, thanks Peter 😊

We had a wonderful stay at Pauline’s place over the long weekend. From the initial booking Pauline was extremely helpful answering questions and giving us all of the information about our stay, and met us on arrival showing us the hut and getting the hot tub started for us. We found the cabin to be the perfect base to explore the area, enjoying a trip into York using park and ride, visiting the Dalby forest and some local villages. The hut was bigger than we expected and had everything we could need, the hot tub was brilliant and stayed hot for ages! We also made use of the BBQ which we really appreciated having. Pauline was friendly and welcoming, even leaving out some treats for our dog (who also loved the trip!) Would 100% recommend Pauline’s place and will be back!

we had a lovely stay at the cosy cottage, this was our second visit as we enjoyed our stay so much last time we just had to come back! Jason's cottage is like a home away from home, with everything you need plus the added personal touches such as milk, wine, fresh eggs, treats etc.. the hot tub is a great added bonus and we were lucky with the weather.. the beds are super comfy for a great night's sleep, we would definitely recommend a visit here :-)

Only stayed for a short period but overall all was great.

Absolutely fantastic place. So peaceful, private & quiet. Very clean, lots of light, ventilation and bug screens for doors and windows. Only things you need to bring is food, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo and yourself. It has everything you need here. Hosts are very responsive and friendly. Paying for fire logs etc is really easy with a QR code to scan or then can send you a link. They really have thought of everything. I would love to stay here again in the near future. It is very remote and a distance from any shops, so if you need supplies from a supermarket it's probably a 20 min drive. Other than that it's great. The day we stayed it was baking hot so maybe bring a portable fan if you struggle with heat or have any skin conditions and need to stay cool. Will definitely recommend or stay again. The lodge was beautiful and so relaxing, felt incredibly sad going back to normal life after our 2 nights. The hot tub was perfect, and though we came for the coldest weekend of the winter so far, the place was comfortable and cosy. The bathroom is a little walk away and can be spooky in the dark, but the relaxation from the hot tub takes the edge off. Sophie was lovely and incredibly helpful over message and you can tell she takes great pride in the lodge. Would recommend and will be coming back!
