WELCOME Built in 2019 under the guidance of a wheelchair using friend we have provided most, but not all, of the facilities to suit our less mobile visitors, although everyone is more than welcome to stay with us. It is styled around a rustic theme and is located around 5 miles (8km) from the A1 and 3 miles (5km) from the M62 motorways, with good road/rail links from 3 local stations and a bus terminus. All our guests have the full private use of the detached annexe during their stay.

The back of the property is surounded by lovely little cottage gardens. You have lovely views of the countryside from the first floor of the property. With one of road free parking so no need to worry if visiting loved ones at the hospital or out for a day at the races. Directly opposite the Hospital you have the Cumberland public house which serves great food and has a large beer garden. As a well travelled couple we appreciated what home comforts guest like and hopefully accommodate for this.

Basils Barn is situated on the grounds of a 17th century manor, surrounded by a picturesque 60 acre estate. The bedroom is directly attached to Basils stable, where there is a doorway in between the two spaces. In the paddocks we also have a herd of Highland cows, Hebridean sheep, horses, pigs, chickens and Norwegian Forrest cats. Our animals are mostly rescued and all of our animals are kept strictly as pets.
