The cabin sits close to and above the river Eden, with stunning views and the chance to have total time out to relax or explore. Nestled in the Eden valley, it is very close to explore the Lake District or the Pennines and not far from the Scottish border. Transport is easy, 5 minutes from jct 40 at Penrith, on the A686. 1.5 hours from Newcastle and a 10 min walk from the Carlisle/Settle/Leeds station line.

The retreat is totally secluded, but still just a minutes walk to Sedbergh's lovely pubs and cafes. Welcome to Highside a delightful cottage set in a secluded location overlooking the tranquil village of Lorton. Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

Stable Cottage is a first-floor apartment above a converted grade II listed stable block situated in a superb location with the village of Bowness and The Lake just a short walk away. The property has a Hot Tub. Parking is free of charge. The cottage is self contained and has all the cooking utensils you will need to make a lovely meal in the fabulous kitchen. Small dogs are welcome we do ask that they don't go on any of the furniture.
