Such an amazing value for such a big place in such a beautiful location. You basically get your own private compound, which for the three of us, was more than enough room. If anything was needed, Pablo was a text away, and the main part of the lodge (restaurant, bar, pool) is basically across the street. The unit is equipped with some of the best WiFi I found in Ecuador, which was a pleasant surprise as we were in the middle of the rainforest. Pablo and the rest of the staff at Huasquila were excellent, and beyond hospitable. We checked in super late, and Pablo waited behind to make sure we knew exactly where to park, and to help us with our stuff. The lodge is actually closer to Cotunda than Tena, just a fair warning. We drove to Tena routinely and it took less than 30 minutes. Archidona is another, closer hub with food and shops. The area immediately surrounding the lodge is basically trails, caves, rivers, caves with rivers in them, etc. Basically an outdoorsmans’ paradise. Along with that, you do get bugs sometimes near the sliding glass doors (mainly outside the lodge) but you kind of have to expect that in this location. Just be aware that you will be staying in a lodge in the Amazon rainforest. Another awesome perk was the breakfast offered by the lodge every day. Pablo and the staff even brought us breakfast to our house because we were the only ones staying at Huasquila at the time.

El lugar es hermoso y está muy bien equipado. Aunque no hay electricidad, esto se compensa perfectamente con la encantadora chimenea (muy fácil de encender), las velas y las luces solares. Las camas son increíblemente cálidas, y las cobijas térmicas están muy bien pensadas para garantizar una estancia confortable. Los animales en la propiedad son adorables y le dan un toque especial a la experiencia. La zona es simplemente espectacular, con vistas impresionantes que invitan al descanso y la contemplación.

If you’re looking for a place big enough for a family, with adequate space and facilities, Sandra and Timo’s place has it all! We were just two guys, but really enjoyed the space and amenities. One room has a King bed with loft, the other two twins and loft. Fully stocked kitchen with full sized fridge and gas stove and fast internet if you need to work. Gorgeous grounds, with beautiful gardens filled with birds. Marcela, Sandra’s sister came to make delicious dinner and breakfast and you should definitely take advantage of her skills! We only had a couple of days, but brought our bikes for a nice ride one day and then hiked up to Cascada Escondida the other. The river is said to be one of the best for kayaking and rafting in Ecuador, and the area has some of the best birding as well. Horseback riding, coffee farms, cheese making-there are activities galore! You won’t want to walk to Baeza or Borja, but that’s k d of the point, isn’t it? Will definitely be back to explore some more!

Este alojamiento es muy agradable rodeado de naturaleza y aire puro, tiene una buena ubicación cerca de puntos turísticosy de interés. Los anfitriones son las excelentes personas super amables y generosos hicieron que nuestra estadía sea una buena experiencia.

Excelente lugar si deseas pasar unos dias en total descanso, la cabaña es hermosa y muy acogedora, tiene lo necesario para q pases momentos espectaculares, recomiendo.

Se pudo disfrutar mucho por el espacio del terreno, ideal para pasear con las mascotas y descansar. Los dueños excelentes personas y la persona que está a cargo también muy amable. Recomendado.

It was an amazing stay! incredibly beautiful area with fantastic hikes around. The house was so cozy and the hosts were so accommodating and helpful!

Es un lugar hermoso, muy cómodo, con una vista espectacular del Antisana, rodeado de montañas. Muy bien ubicado, a 5min caminando de las Termas de Papallacta. El restaurante es delicioso y la atención en general personalizada y muy buena. Super recomendado.
