The house is in the exclusive private eco estate - Cathkin Estate, bordering the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site. The estate exceeds 1,000 hectares, with an abundance of free roaming wildlife (zebra, eland, wildebeest, oribi etc) and a host of birds and flora. A dreamy location for any nature lover!

Highbourne Cottages - Protea | Mountain Retreat

Tucked away on the side of a mountain overlooking the surrounding mountains. Protea cottage is open plan family cottage with the heart of the cottage opening onto a wooden deck – the perfect spot to watch the setting sun. The cottage sleeps up to four people with one large open planned studio-style bedroom on the ground floor and an open loft upstairs with two single beds, just perfect for a family of 4. The studio design allows flow from the well-equipped kitchen to the lounge area and bedroom.

Tugela River Lodge: Rapids Cottage with Hot Tub

Tugela River Lodge is a pet friendly, self-catering Eco-Lodge, located on a private cattle and game farm on the banks of the Tugela River, near Winterton, KZN, South Africa. We run off solar and gas and invite guest to come and enjoy the quiet side of nature. Our lodge has access to many miles of trails for hiking, biking and running through our private game farm where one can get up close and personal with our resident giraffe. The sounds of the river are sure to put you to sleep at night!

Vista Road Farm Cottage

Relax with the whole family on this working farm nestled in the bends of the Mooi River. Experience the peace of the meandering Mooi River, nature, livestock and overlook the quiet bustle of an active farmyard. Unfortunately due to ongoing biosecurity measures access to the dairy and cattle areas will not be allowed. The cottage is self catering, and close to Mooi River town for supplies or takeaways. There is 4km of rough dirt road to access the farm (high clearance vehicles recommended)

Inkunzi Cave - A Unique African experience.

Situated in one of the safest, crime-free areas of SA, with tar roads all the way, is INKUNZI CAVE. A totally unique, owner built unit with a Bushman theme. 1 bedroom only with double bed. Single bed in lounge . An amazing "rock" bath and separate shower. Overlooks a beautiful rock pool. Very private. 2 other cheaper units on the property are listed separately: THE ZULU HUT, and DIDDLY SQUAT. All have stunning mountain views, are comfortable and fully equipped for self catering.

Zebra View Lodge - Families only

2 Zebra View Cathkin estate, in the picturesque tranquil valley, Central Drakensberg Kwa-Zulu Natal. Nestled against Ukahlamba Drakensberg park, world heritage site. Covers 1000 hectares of virgin grasslands, indigenous forests, crystal clear mountain streams. An abundance of animal, plant species, including Eland. Unobstructed views of Cathkin peak mountains. Services/activities include trout fishing, hiking trails, game viewing, mountain biking and professional security 24 hours.

Llandaff Summer House

Llandaff House Van Reenen is 4 bedroom California style house built in 1950's. Perched on the edge of the escarpment with a fabulous view. Laze for days in front of the massive fireplace, or venture out and explore one of the 3 gorges. Start your holiday here on route to the coast or meet friends mid-way from JHB & Durban for a getaway or celebration, or a wedding at the little church just up the road. We also have 3 cottages, Woodlands and The Barn and The Old Barn.

Situated in the Central Drakensberg, Shepherd Farm is perched on a ridge overlooking the Bell Park Dam, and the majestic Champagne and Cathkin peaks of the Drakensberg mountains. These mountains form part of the Maloti Drakensberg Transboundary World heritage Site, renowned for its spectacular natural landscapes and beautiful fauna and flora. Our cottage is light and modern, comfortable and welcoming, with a modern kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, Netlix and WiFi.

Nestled in the town of Winterton just below the Central Drakensberg is this lovely solar powered self catering cottage. King size bed (can be split into two 3/4 beds), WIFI, kitchen and undercover parking. Bathroom has a shower. A short drive away from a variety of sites, hikes and activities in the Berg. Coffee shops and restaurants within a few minutes drive. Please note: there is a private pool, for hosts only, that isn't fenced off..

Our house is close to the Central Drakensberg and 5km outside of Winterton. You’ll love panoramic view of the Drakensberg. A fireplace and an entertainment area with a pool and table tennis table. Patio with braai facilities. A pool and deck. There is walk to the dam or river on the property. 3 garages. Our house is good for couples, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
