We couldn’t have picked a better location to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary. We spent a beautiful Saturday at Blackwater Falls and exploring any trace of the Blackwater 100 (historic offroad race) around town. Sunday was raining and we spent the entire day at the cabin having the most peaceful day watching the clouds roll through.

DockHoliday is a happy little place tucked between state parks. We enjoyed staying here for three nights. The house was suitable for our party, 4 adults and 3 small children. The amenities in the house were adequate to meet our needs. Keurig Coffee Maker, functioning Washer/Dryer, Foosball Table, and full size fridge to hold our groceries made our stay comfortable. Know that this house is on a two-lane road that serves as a main road around this western portion of Deep Creek Lake. The traffic isn’t constant, but the noise of passing cars and trucks can be disruptive to those seeking a vacation home that brings them closer to nature. Also, the living space in the house isn’t large, so noise travels easily. May be a problem for noise-sensitive people in your party. If sleeping in the master bedroom on the main level, I recommend bringing a white-noise machine to mask the noises of footsteps on the second level. We came to see the Lake and State Parks and this house was a nice base.

Enjoyed my stay. Building is one half of a 2 unit townhome but felt very private, both inside and out. Hot tub and fireplace both were easy to work with clear instructions for hot tub use. Place was clean and cozy with comfortable beds. Location was convenient to the ski areas, and a nice view of Timberline was available through the trees from the back porch or hot tub area. The office for check in was about a 6 minute drive from the property, and check in was hassle free, with a simple pick up and drop off box for the keys. Matt was responded very quickly (less than 10 minutes) to a question I had while driving to the property. Kitchen appliances are a little old but everything is perfectly functional and well stocked in terms of dishes and cookware. It’s a great value and I would recommend to others.

My husband and I stayed here for four days. It was awesome. The only thing that we had an issue with was the price of the cleaning fee because the place was already very clean and we are not dirty people so we kept it fairly neat ourselves and made sure everything was the same as we left it.. and also could’ve used a outside barbecue grill. Other than that. Our steak was great and we used the hot tub every day we was there place was beautiful

Great spot for our family vacation! Games downstairs were very fun and movie screen was great. Rick was easy to communicate with. Would recommend!

Rich & Brittany have a lovely tiny house in a beautiful area! Their place is cozy, clean and has all the creature comforts, plus a nice big hot tub on a nearly wrap around deck and a big yard with a fire pit, with plenty of firewood, courtesy of R & B. If you're wanting to drive up a long and winding road in the mountains of West Virginia, to a cozy tiny house, that's "just right"? Then, Goldilocks will be much pleased! We had a wonderful winter stay! The house was inviting and cozy, and as other guests have mentioned well appointed with comfortable beds.

We absolutely lucked out. Our original accommodations fell through and we were able to book this gem with incredible speed and great communication. The place is absolutely stunning. We couldn’t believe our luck. The picturesque stream that runs thru the property and the hot tub on the deck were fabulous! The home is cozy and the beds are super comfy! We already know where to stay when we are in the area in the future. If I could give it more than four stars I would!

this property is so unique and beautiful. The bed was so comfortable. The entire environment was relaxing. I highly recommend a soak in the tub! We will be back when we have time to explore the grounds and HEDGE MAZE! If the weather had been better this time, we would have done more exploring. Bill was very kind and attentive. We were surprised by delicious baked goods both days of our stay. The cottage is quaint, cozy, and a great little retreat for us and our dog. It is also conveniently located for trips to morgantown. We're already talking about staying again!

This place was everything we expected and more!!!! The view, the river, the peace and quiet cannot be overstated. This place is truly an escape from the city. Our family met up here from all over. Print out and study your maps! We got lost but ended up getting help from a kind neighbor and had quite an adventure.

Loved staying at the cabin. Close enough to DCL yet far enough to enjoy peacefulness and solitude. Will definitely be putting this on my favorites list. Would highly recommend.

if you stay here, and you should, please take the time to notice AND appreciate the detail, decore, and the detail that went into the renovation of this 'chalet'. I say this because I have spent a great deal of time in Bavaria and the Alps and this place is three different areas in one cohesive BnB. the photos and descriptions do not truly tell the story... this 'chalet' is AWESOME and it's within about 800 yards of a dozen great hikes with amazing Vistas...

What a beautiful, clean and well-equipped house! We loved gathering there with our extended family and dogs. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had nice equipment (not junk) that was easy to cook on. We appreciated all of the thoughtful touches and felt at home in Sara's beautiful place. The house is very remote and perfect for those looking for a private getaway. And we are very thankful for Sara's hospitality. She was incredibly responsive and kind.

Abrams Creek is a great place for a quiet, private, beautiful rustic cabin camping experience. The grounds were fantastic, from the moment you pass the check-in you are immediately in the woods. At the cabin itself you feel like you are alone in the woods next to a peaceful stream. The cabin was comfortable and plenty warm with the propane heating, and having a dedicated port-a-potty right next to our site made bio-breaks much more convenient than if you had to walk to a central bathhouse. Highly recommend Abrams Creek!

This rustic, cozy cabin was the perfect spot for an impromptu weekend in the mountains for our family. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipt. It was cold outside but heating worked well! So appreciated the little conveniences provided, like dishwasher and laundry soap, paper towels & clear, easy checkout instructions. Great location in easy drive to Davis main street and skiing. Laura was a super responsive host. Would def return!

Friends and family members rented several cabins at Black Bear for a wonderful weekend! Joan’s description warns that AWD is needed at this time of year—and it is. 🤪. Maintenance at Black Bear was extremely responsive when one of our group had difficulty getting out of the resort due to snow/ice. Nice to have the covered back porch to take off snowy wet clothes/boots.

Everything was phenomenal. Plenty of space to maneuver and have gatherings with loved ones.

My wife and I needed a trip away from the city for the long holiday weekend where we could enjoy some good activity in peaceful surroundings with our dog. This cozy pedestal cabin in Black Bear Resort was just what we were looking for. Check in was easy by picking up the keys at the resort lodge. The place had everything we needed to a cook a couple nights for ourselves, including the gas grill on the deck. The wall-mounted 4K flatscreen TV with Roku let us relax after three active days out and about in Canaan Valley while we listened to the thunderstorms roll over the mountains each evening. This would certainly be a fine place for folks (especially with kids -- there were two sets of bunk beds in the loft) to use a base for their WV adventures any time of year!

Rv’s place was very nice, clean, cozy & spacious for family and friends. I’ll surely Recommend this place to anyone that’ll be headed in that location for a vacation.

We had an amazing stay at Home Sweet Home. The house was very clean, neighborhood was quiet but friendly. We were lake adjacent, used the dock space, and even took advantage of the community center. Thank you so much!

We stayed at David's wonderful home for a few days around the New Year's. The kitchen was well appointed, the beds comfortable and the gas fireplace was really comforting when it was cold and stormy outside. wonderful location close to the national wildlife refuge, State Parks and the great little towns of Davis and Thomas West Virginia. highly recommended!

We booked James’s place at the last minute, and we chose it for the location rather than the accommodation. However, when we arrived we had a wonderful surprise, because it was much nicer than the photos had let us to believe. It was spacious and comfortable, with a good-sized kitchen and a lovely sitting area. The kids loved having the playground outside, and it was amazing to soak in the hot tub surrounded by snow, watching the stars come out. We also enjoyed using the indoor swimming pool and games room, and visiting the ponies at the riding centre. The kids sledded down the hill outside and we also went sledding at Blackwater Falls, which was fantastic. The waterfall looked so beautiful with all the icicles. We didn’t have time to try Timberline, but the skiing at Canaan Valley was reasonably priced and great fun. We also had a few nice meals in Davis and Thomas, and a beautiful walk to Douglas falls. Overall, it was a fabulous stay and we will definitely come again if we can…

Beautiful house in a gorgeous community. Close access to the lake and other items in town. Would definitely visit again!
