Island Retreat: Quiet and convenient.

This beautiful studio is in a private house on one of Savannah's barrier Islands. It is 12-15 minutes drive to Downtown ( Use Uber to take advantage of downtown Savannah's open container laws) and 10 minutes to the beach at Tybee Island. The room has a small private bath with shower with rain head, a full closet, coffee maker and fridge, vanity table. Mark, co-host, is a retired local guide who can provide information if needed. The Starlander suites are within a 1920s townhouse that's part home (mine), part guest house, part art gallery, and a little bit library (I have a few books). I've travelled to over 70 countries, and my favorite stays were not in hotels, but in small guest houses and hostels with private rooms available. I liked the home-grown character of these places, and the chance to interact with the hosts and other guests. I hope to give others a similar opportunity in Savannah at the Starlander.

Laid back guest house located close to the marshes and 15 minutes south of the Historic District. Historic Coastal Cottage on Isle of Hope

The Crooked Oak Cottage is a short walk to Historic Bluff drive which overlooks the intracoastal waterway. The Isle of Hope community has several crafts and art shows through out the year. The IOH Marina hosts monthly concerts, kayak rentals and local fishing charters. Crooked Oak is minutes from Wormsloe plantation, Tybee beach, Savannahs Downtown area and many other attractions.
