Black Squirrel Barn is a converted 3 bed 2 bath barn. It is completely self contained so you have your privacy but I am close by to help if necessary. The barn is luxurious yet homely with cosy underfloor heating downstairs. Close by are two lovely pubs with fab food. You can also find a little post office within 5 mins walk. Located at the start of the Chilterns area of outstanding natural beauty, offering great hiking and outdoor activities. Near the historic town of Hitchin, full of independent cafes, restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. The Pine Loft is on the side of our 19th century home in Shillington (a rural village boasting two walkable gastropubs) fully sealed off from the house once you are inside.

Guest house set in 2 acres of idyllic country gardens with heated pool*. Max occupancy: 4 ONE bedroom with double bed. Living room with sofa bed Bathroom with shower Kitchenette with air fryer & microwave Other facilities: TV Free parking BBQ Trampoline and zip line for younger visitors. *NOTE: The pool is NOT heated between November and April. Pool temperature depends on outside temperature; it is normally 8-10 degrees Celsius above air temperature.

Easy walk into Markyate village with eateries, shop, PO and pub. Short drive to St Albans, Harpenden, Ashridge, Whipsnade and Dunstable Downs. EV charger (extra). Parking 2 cars. Sadly no pets.

It’s a 20min walk into the town centre where there are many restaurants, shops, pubs, salons, etc and the train station. 10 minute walk to two different swing parks.
