The Lakeside River House

The cottage lies on the banks of Lake Rousseau. This is a very interesting lake. The lake is fed by the crystal clear waters of the Rainbow Springs system and the dark tannin stained waters of the Withlacoochee River. Back in the 1930's, the water shed was dammed up on its far western edge. The result was a creation of a 12 mile long lake with a river twisting through the center, all of which you will enjoy from your waters edge dock. Majestic cabin on Fort Brook Farm

Get away from it all when you camp under the stars on our beautiful little farm. Our cabin is a bedroom with queen size bed and a sleeping loft that is a twin. Bring a sleeping bag for loft. This air conditioned and heated cabin has a little extra. There’s a sink, fridge, and a coffee maker with pods in the kitchenette. There’s a great fire pit that also is a grill. We have chairs and table to sit by your camp fire. The restroom and showers are separate. There is not a half bath in the cabin.

Our condo is located in the quaint little town of Cedar Key on the Gulf of Mexico. Cedar Key has lots to offer. Fishing. Boating. Shopping. Restaurants. Art boutiques. Small sunny islands that can be accessed by boats and kayaks. Our condo has a pool and hot tub and a boat wash area. There is a private dock on the intercostal that when the tide is right you can pull your boat right up to. Also Fish cleaning station. We have a BBQ grill and picnic tables available on the property.

Located in Rio Vista which has it’s own private gated 3 acre park on the Rainbow River! The park has bathrooms, pavilions, grills and a boat ramp - so BRING YOUR BOAT! Relax riverside at the private park where you can fish and swim. Park is five minute walk (2 blocks) from the home. Free for guest use are kayaks and paddle boards. They can be transported with the golf cart which has a hitch and kayak trailer. If your vehicle has a hitch you may to use it for other area destinations.

Even though we are secluded, we have all the comforts of home, from indoor plumbing and hot water to AC and Wi-Fi. Our TV has a Firestick, so bring your streaming accounts and relax night away after you retire from roasting Smores on the outdoor firepit. A fold out sleeper couch takes this from a 2 person cottage to 4 in just minutes. Parking is not an issue, even if you have a trailer.
