Wonderful country house in a very quiet village relatively close to the local vineyards. The house was very comfortable with all that we required. There’s a train line at the back of the property, but trains ran very infrequently and didn’t bother us during our stay. Would stay there again.

The house was cozy, comfortable and spotless. The property is quiet and I would have enjoyed exploring the woods had it not been raining. This will definitely be on our list of favorites for Scottsville's Airbnb's.

Majestic location and great place to unplug from distractions and unwind. Peaceful and relaxing amenities, lots of interesting health, spiritual, fitness literature available in this space. The stars were sooooo visible and beautiful. Great sunrise & sunset, cool seeing the lit train go by at night. It is very windy atop this hill, with a great view of the river below. There is also a way down to the riverbed at the base of the driveway, maybe a quarter mile further down. The pictures haven’t been updated since new bed spreads & some rearrangements. There was tea kettle with lots of tea options, spices and seasonings available, meditation room, and the waterfall/jet shower was amazing. Very available and communicative host. Good wifi. There are meditation retreat/activities locally, that we wish to explore on our next trip here. Thank you and enjoy!!

Had an amazing stay at Bella Vista! Wanted a space to rest and relax and got exactly that. Really enjoyed the hot tub and the house was super cozy. Thank you guys so much for a fantastic trip!!

This property is beautiful - well kept inside and out. All of the amenities were very convenient and kept us comfortable during our stay. The decor was very nice as well, it was a real treat getting to feel in touch with the history of the place. All in all, it was a very pleasant trip and I would not hesitate to stay here again if given the chance!

I don’t think I can describe just how wonderful a trip this was but I will try. David was fantastic. To start the place was absolutely spotless and had a super clean kitchen and bathroom. The linens were very clean and there were plenty of towels for the hot tub and shower. The kitchen had a great oven that was a convection oven. There was also a cast-iron skillet, which is so essential. I hate cooking on nonstick because you never know what kind of toxic stuff you’re putting into your food so having a grill, cast-iron skillet, and breakfast skillet was amazing. While we were there, there was a flash flood. While there was no flood to be seen in the house because it’s on a hill, the roadway was temporarily impossible to traverse. David brought us fresh chicken from his farm and it was fantastic. He made sure that we were safe when we did leave once the water had subsided. The hot tub was very clean. It looked brand new. The Internet was very fast and we had no problem watching TV.

My family absolutely loves coming to stay in Holman’s cabin! It’s a very lovely cabin, very comfortable and homey. We especially love having a fire in the oversized fireplace each evening! Every sunrise and sunset you can find us on the deck enjoying the Birds Eye view up and down the James River! It’s a very special place! And we look forward to our next visit!

Our family absolutely enjoyed our stay in Janice’s cabin. It had everything we needed and the views were amazing. After long days of adventuring around Charlottesville it was nice to have somewhere so private and comfy to come back too.

We felt right at home after setting foot in the Hygge house. Beautiful cabin, which lies peacefully next to a small creek in the middle of a forest. Very clean, spacious, and with lovely personal touches. For anyone enjoying a Scandinavian type of stay, look no further. We would’ve stayed longer if it weren’t for the fact we had to continue our East Coast roadtrip.

We had an amazing stay at the cabin! It was the perfect blend of cozy and adventurous, with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was peaceful and secluded, yet still close enough to the adorable local town. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. We especially loved the outdoor areas with its beautiful views – perfect for morning coffee and evening stargazing. We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat!
