Secluded Off-Grid Mountain Cottage

Private stand-alone cottage on a beautiful farm 1.5 hours north of Cape town and 30-40 minutes from Elands Bay. This is a very simple, off-grid, self-catering cottage with beautiful mountain views, a dam to swim in and hiking access to the entire 2000 hectare farm. The farm has established hiking and mountain biking trails, horse riding on request and established sport and trad rock climbing routes. The cottage has two fireplaces, a gas stove, fridge, a 'donkey' water heater and solar power.

Nieuwedrift Cottage comprises a air-conditioned main bedroom contains a queen-size bed and its en-suite bathroom is fitted with a bath. The second room has 2 single beds and an air conditioner. Both rooms are equipped with Egyptian linen. There is a second bathroom fitted with a shower. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, cooking utensils and a dining table. The farm's fourth cottage is built of rock between two boulders. The interior is very comfortably furnished with ceder-clad walls and ceder floors, two comfortable 3/4 beds, a fireplace, kitchenette and a bathroom clad in rock with sliding doors opening onto the landscape. The cottage faces north with a view of Sneeuberg. There is a large sliding door opening onto the patio with a retractable awning and a braai to enjoy the extraordinary views in every direction.

You can wonder around the farm or visit many interesting places in town, or hike up 22 Waterfalls or Groot Winterhoek Reserve
