Amazing stay for a 30th family celebration. The sun was shining so we spent most our time at the house on the terrace! Perfect location with the surrounding scenery. We had a slight issue with the hot tub room, due to previous guests. But this was quickly resolved! Can’t fault the hosts or the house. Would definitely love to return for another celebration in the future one day! Thanks again

We had a fabulous stay at Will and Giles’s cottage. The cottage is deceivingly big, with plenty of space to relax in the garden and play games. We already can’t wait to book another stay here and explore more of the local area.

Elizabeth was very responsive and replied all our questions very fast. It was easy to communicate.We arrived late in the evening and she left for us a good coffee,a bottle of Prosecco,bread, milk and fresh organic eggs. It was great to find it after a long day of driving. It helped us with the dinner and the breakfast next day.the house is very beautifully designed,the kitchen had everything you can need to prepare meals (we prepared our meal twice a day in the house, so it was important to us).the bathrooms and the linens were clean. The only thing that was missing,on my opinion, is a shampoo.Elizabeth also left a detergent and the tablets for a dishwasher. The surroundings are amazing and are in a walking distance.Thank you,Lizzie, for a great experience in your house!

Beautifully furnished house, perfect for what we all wanted. Location even better than i expected, no need to use the car depending how far you want to venture., lovely shops, walks and restaurants. Shame we could only stay the 2 nights so will need to come back when we get chance. Thanks Suzanne

Fantastic accomodation, right on the lake with loads of thoughtful treats on arrival. Just what we wanted! Very close to bustling Bowness but also a short hop to tranquility of west shore. We enjoyed kayaking around the islands from our doorstep and took bikes on car ferry and visited Wray castle. Our teenage lads loved the footgolf 5mins from house too. Loads of great walks from nearby. We drove to grasmere (20 min) and did Fairfield horseshoe. Perfect base for all the family. Thanks Helen!

We spent a lovely few days at the cottage in Coniston. It is ideally situated for visiting lots of very interesting and beautiful places, Holehird Gardens and Brantwood House to name but two. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and exactly as advertised. Sue and Brad were very quick to answer any questions we had. Highly recommended!

Sams place was even better than the photos show! The location is stunning and Claughton Hall and the servants quarters were perfect for a lovely weekend getaway. Sam was really attentive when messaged and responded really quickly to any questions we had. Overall, I would recommend this a premium place for anyone wanting a break to just relax and recharge.

We stayed at Swallow's Loft, in the beautiful village of Far Sawrey, for 3 nights. We absolutely loved the area and Louise's place is ideally situated. The apartment was very comfortable, clean and cosy and Louise provided everything we could need. Louise was very friendly and messaged a few times to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

This is a charming apartment, in a wonderful location right in the heart of the town. Ideal for the 4 of us. Also having a parking permit for local car parking is a great bonus for this property.

The perfect accommodation for our group trip to Lancaster - had everything a group needs for a short stay and more. Ray and Sue were amazing hosts, extremely accommodating and helpful. Plenty of parking, well stocked kitchen, would definitely stay here again, thank you!

Excellent Airbnb with everything as described and to a high standard. Friendly hosts who provide a very cosy and comfortable place to stay. The location is peaceful and close to the waterways and beautiful views and sunsets. Good choice of eateries close by. Highly recommended.

Herdwick were great hosts with great communication. Everything about the flat is of a very high standard. The only thing that could help even further is a 'welcome book / guide' that explained applicances / walks / wifi (the mesh inc passwords), local shops / restaurant recommendations / recycling etc.......guests would just be able to get even more from their stay.

Great apartment, perfect for what we needed. We parked outside to unpack in the 1 hour free parking spaces then took the car to the local carpark where we left it for 3 days. The apartment is in a good location.

Incredible location, lovely place, super comfy beds, very peaceful, super clean, lake access, away from the bustling Lake District tourism but close enough when we needed it. Sally was helpful and responsive. The best Air BnB experience I’ve ever had. Worth every penny!

Sharon's place is fab really good location with easy parking. if you want to explore Wasdale then it is perfect location. The flat is well set up, warm and with fab views of the fells. The lake beaches are 5 mins away by car or a bit longer by foot. The wildlife is super loads of birds. Wasdale head is a bit further and easy access to Scarfell, Great Gable and styhead pass over to Borrowdale. There is a small shop with essentials and some walking gear at Wasdale head, plus a pub with good local Ale. I can also recommend the Alpaca trekking at Wasdale Alpacas. We have loads still to explore in Wasdale so will hopefully return.

We spent 5 nights here at the end of March and start of April 2025. We were really fortunate with the weather and took full advantage of the wonderful location: scaling Slight Side and Scafell on one day, riding to Coniston via the bridleway on another and 'bagging' most of the Coniston fells on another day via Wrynose Pass. We ate in on a couple of nights and also went to the Wainwright's for some pub grub, as well as Stoves for their evening menu. Simon and Belinda's place is very well situated in Great Langdale for all kinds of walks and rides, food and decent pints. The house itself is a lovely place to return to in the evening with easy parking outside for our van and once inside, everything is spotless, well equipped and cosy. We really appreciated all the helpful information on bike routes and walking routes and spent the late evenings by the fire pouring over the Wainwright books planning the next day's adventures. 100% recommended.

We had a great stay in the cottage! I was travelling with my mother, so having 2 rooms was great (although it would have been a bit cramped if we had been 4, but for 2 it was perfect). It's very cosy and comfortable. We were impressed by how well the cottage is equipped, there's absolutely everything you need, plus some thoughtful touches like plenty of books, guides and maps which was greatly appreciated. Having a dedicated parking space is also a huge bonus in the area: we loved being able walking directly to Jenkin's Crag and to the village center without having to take the car. That being said, I was a bit disappointed by Ambleside which is VERY busy and crowded, but this has nothing to do with Tracy's place itself which was lovely and quiet!

Amazing place with awesome hosts. Mark and Deborah. They were great with communication, always responsive and helpful with local recommendations. My family and I had an amazing time at Maple leaf cottage. The house was immaculately clean and well decorated. Great access to swimming pool my kids enjoyed every minute of it. Will definitely visit Maple leaf cottage again.

Just wow. What a beautiful place, and even more wonderful hosts, Mark and Ruth. Staying here felt like stepping back in time, bringing back nostalgic memories of summer trips to the Lakes as a child. It’s a warm, traditional, and welcoming place, perfect for families or couples looking for a peaceful getaway. The hot tub and sauna were fantastic, properly heated and well-maintained, a cut above the lukewarm versions we’ve experienced elsewhere. The grounds are truly stunning: expansive gardens, a forest and stream for kids to explore, and even a private stretch of beach on a secluded part of Lake Windermere. It’s just far enough from Bowness to enjoy the tranquility, but close enough for an easy drive or quick taxi ride into town. Truly a special place. We couldn’t recommend it more!

Booking the boat with Rob was straightforward, and his clear, brilliant demonstration made it easy for us to operate the boat independently. We had a fantastic time at the Wren, beautiful views, my cockerpoo Marley thought he was in heaven, having breakfast on the patio with views over the lake was bliss, lovely walks, would definitely go back next year👍👍👍

very central location with everything you need within walking distance. The accommodation also had all the things you would need. would definitely stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Emma's place. The secure garden was great for our dog to roam whilst we relaxed in the hot tub at the end of the day following plenty of walking around the Lakes. The cottage itself has loads of character but everything you need for your stay. We were fortunate to have the weather to make use of the gas BBQ. Emma was very welcoming and chilled with the fact we had a good run up and arrived half an hour before check-in time. Nothing was too much trouble and the fresh eggs were delicious! The cottage is just a 10 minute drive from Windermere, (20 minutes to Ambleside, 30 minutes to Grizedale forest), so whilst it's not in the throng of all us tourists, we benefited from the peace and quiet when we wanted it, but nothing was too far away. We'd also highly recommend the fish and chip shop in Staveley, just a 4 minute drive down the road. Hopefully we'll be back!
