This cottage is delightfully cozy in the winter and very charmingly decorated. It’s not just run of the mill decor. The lighting setup is especially great and was put together very thoughtfully. I really enjoyed being IN the spaces that have been created in the cottage - there are several different seating areas for reading a book or sharing a meal or hanging out. The location of the cottage is spectacular with beautiful views from the windows as well as the private garden, private porch overlooking the bay, and more. Fabiola leaves many helpful instructions (often amusing!) and also gives lots of recommendations about the area. In addition to that she is super welcoming, always available, and clearly wants her guests to enjoy themselves. She also lets the guests have privacy. I’m sure the cottage and garden are even better in summer simply because one can spend more time outdoors, but winter has its own beauty in Maine and the cottage is a wonderful place to experience it from.

Can’t say enough about Craig’s beautiful lakeside cottage. If you like remote, peaceful and being close to nature this is for you. The house and contents seemed brand new and they had thought of everything we could want, right down to pancake mix, maple syrup and Maine blueberries for our breakfasts. An easy drive to Acadia. Craig was communicative, friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic stay and hope we’ll be back.

I could not overstate the beauty and peacefulness of this location. Good proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia but private with stunning views. The description and photos are accurate, we found the host responsive and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed at Alicia’s place, as we were traveling through, so we didn’t get to take full advantage of the lake. It was well appointed and made great use of the space. There was only 2 of us but a family of 4 would have no issues. It was extremely clean and cozy. We would stay again if in the area. Thanks Alicia

I really enjoyed staying at this house! It was a perfect location central location if you’re traveling to Acadia or Bangor. The house was clean and cozy. It has a rustic and charming feel.

Loved everything. Hope to return with my family some day soon! Way too many positives to mention. The location is perfectly and authentically Maine, plus the views can't be beat! Plenty of games, activities, room to roam and you're super close to a more secluded portion of Acadia Nat'l Park for more exploring and incredible views. You're also within an hour's drive to Jasper Beach, which has now made it to my "must do while in Maine" list. Honestly, I can't say enough about the town, this property, and the host. Rebekah, you can tell, takes much pride in this place and delights in sharing it with others. I'm glad about that because, she's right, it is very special!

My husband and I, and our two pups had a fantastic time in the Carriage House for a week. Part of a breathtaking private/secret compound on the water…with the most incredible private tidal pool. The place is so authentic, which is what we love about staying in ME when we can escape. We were so blessed to find Margaret’s place last minute. Margaret’s mother, Sally, and her husband were in the main Kate’s house. So so sweet they were to us and our girls. A dog paradise. We are foodies. Plenty of good restaurants around - just a few minutes to the adorable village of Stonington. Around the corner is one of the best restaurants in the country - Aragosta. We can’t wait to return…hopefully, in the Fall. A trip we will always remember. Thank you, Margaret & Family.

My return visit to the Boathouse was even lovelier than I hoped it would be. The location can't be matched by anything else I've seen. I enjoyed a September visit with my dog and was lucky to have pristine weather. I lived a very simple and healthy outdoors life and came home the better for it. The Boathouse is true to its description: it is simple and rustic and uncomplicated but well-equipped, and is perfect for one-and-dog, or for two people. A little coming-and-going from the neighboring houses meant that I didn't feel isolated. Margaret is truly an exceptional and friendly host who communicates promptly and clearly. I almost hesitate to share "my" Boathouse location with too many of my back-home friends because it feels so intimate and special. I already want to be back there. I offer my deep thanks to Margaret and to the place that I could - briefly - call home.

Three girlfriends and I stayed at Hillside for a week. The setting and location were absolutely beautiful. It was so quiet and peaceful and I loved walking the trail. The house was roomy and comfortable. We highly recommend!!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay on the lake in the cutest cabin! The host was easy to connect with, answering all our questions with a timely response. Only two pieces of advice; whatever transportation you’re taking make I would suggest a truck with solid suspension. The cabin is on a long rough dirt road and grooved semi-paved, my Elantra wasn’t the smartest option. Second, I would suggest grocery shopping on your way if you want large items and a lot of stuff because Walmart is ~35-40 mins. We had fires every night, it was a little chilly in Sept to swim but we did kayak, and simply enjoyed the peace and quiet of the early Fall on the lake. There is one little country store ~10 mins away that has some last minute grocery items, camping stuff, adult beverages, and a little delicatessen where you can get breakfast stuff and subs - the guy makes a mean hero. At night would cozy up and watch a movie and the beds were crazy comfortable so slept great. We hope to make it an annual trip!!

we absolutely LOVED staying here. the place was perfect for everything we were looking for; activities, shops, food. Barbara was responsive and very helpful. the okce was amazin, cannot stress enough how perfect the stay was!

SERENITY NOW!! Fabulous place in a fabulous location. Spotless clean with every possible accompaniment. Local grocery and fuel. Restaurants in and around Bar Harbor. Don’t book this place unless you want/need to seriously chill and decompress! .

This cottage has jaw dropping views. Huge picture windows highlight the beautiful harbor. Everything was so clean and well cared for. Plenty of maps and guides of the area. If you enjoy hunting sea glass you can literally walk off your back steps to go on a “treasure hunt” for it. You can walk down the street and explore shops and restaurants. But you’re also convenient to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The internet went out while we were there which is honestly not normally something we’d even care about. But we had plans to watch our Alma Mater play our biggest rival in college football. Dana took care of everything right away while we were enjoying the morning in Acadia. When we returned everything was good to go. We look forward to visiting again! Highly recommend this property and host.

Water's Edge was the perfect cozy reset from the hustle & bustle of NYC. Calmingly quiet with the most awe inspiring views. Peaceful, clean and convenient! We felt right at home and look forward to returning in the future.

Amazing views! The home was very comfortable and relaxing and you can't help but admire the great views from the yard. The home was a easy location to get to many local attractions without having to go too far. Everything was as described and it was a great place to come back to at the end of a day exploring.

Mark was a great host! He offered to let us check in early, as our flight came in before check in time. The house was quiet and peaceful, perfect vacation house! Our kids loved the easy access to the lake, and the house provided numerous outdoor knick knacks for them to play with. We also enjoyed the relaxing mornings on the hammock. The house is close enough to all necessity’s, but still away enough to not feel crowded with people. We would recommend the place to anyone, and will be returning in the future!
