Hilltop Lodge is a beautiful detached timber building set in enclosed garden (perfect for dogs). It's open plan, with a wood-burning stove to keep you warm on a winter's evening, with well-equipped kitchen and dining area. It has large windows with lots of natural light. The garden is abundant in wildlife throughout the year, and has a lovely terrace to sit out on with comfortable outdoor seating. It’s a great base for relaxing, enjoying wildlife, adventuring, or being creative. 11am checkout.

18th Century Country Cottage on a working farm

The Old Smithy was the original farm house built in the 18th Century. Completely renovated from derelict in 2002 and freshly redecorated in 2021, it boasts many of its original features; including the old fire range which will keep you warm on those winter nights (an initial basket of logs is F.O.C.) Downstairs, sandstone flag floors and oak beamed ceilings are throughout. A biomass boiler heats the cottage with timber sourced from the farm. Includes laundry, towels, heating and electricity.

16th Century Cosy Cottage

Dive into the history of this unique and memorable place. A beautifully renovated, original 16th Century barn is the perfect place to relax. You can snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove after a day of exploring the local countryside and towns. The barn is located perfectly for a visit to the Lakes. Ullswater and Pooley Bridge are only a 30 minute drive away. Equally the Yorkshire Dales and the highest pub in the UK; Tan Hill Inn are also accessible from the barn.

Crown Cottage

End terraced, 1 bedroom cottage situated in the centre of Appleby (1 minute walk from the Crown & Cushion and the market square) consisting of a lounge/diner and fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, oven & microwave. Upstairs there is one good size bedroom (with the choice of king or twin beds) with its own walk in wardrobe & flat screen TV, a superb large double shower room with underfloor heating. We accept a max of 1 well-behaved dog when pre-booked.

The Mill, Rutter Falls,

Comfortable converted watermill sleeping one or two couples, overlooking a spectacular waterfall, in the tranquil Eden Valley, between Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. The deep pool below the falls is ideal for cold-water swimming. Perfect for a romantic getaway, or watching abundant birds and wildlife, for honeymoons, anniversaries or engagements! Ideally situated on the banks of the River Eden in Appleby opposite the cricket pitch and church & clock tower . Once a corset factory, our home is steeped in history, parts dating back to the 1600’s. Our second home has been described as ‘quirky’ with beamed ceilings, stone floors, and mezzanine staged extra large wide staircase. We are ideally situated within walking distance of numerous shops, pubs and restaurants as well as the local Castle in Appleby.
