Well this was our third stay at the Old Yella Dog. And it was just as good, or maybe better, than our first two trips. It's a beautiful spot for exploring far northwest Nevada. And Shauntel is an exceptional host. I've researched all the lodging options in this area, and for us, this is simply the BEST place to stay. I'm confident you will enjoy the Old Yella Dog too!

Cute, warm and comfortable cabin that has everything you need for a restful getaway in this area. I especially like how welcoming the host is and the homemade baked treats she left for me.

I’ve stayed here with my family on multiple occasions and always a perfect stay host is always very helpful and the house and location never disappoints

Kermit has created a really wonderful space that makes you feel comfortable and special the minute you walk in. There are so many beautiful and unique touches in his place you just have to see it for yourself. He is a true artist and his space shows his many talents. You will have everything you need and even have a wonderful sauna and cold plunge if you like!!

Where to start! Easy to navigate here in and out. Scenic, peaceful and convenient. The house felt like home. They did such a great job decorating and providing every little thing and with great detail. Literally was sooo thankful for thier attention to detail. My husband asked me to relay that he really appreciated the upstairs. Both of us had grandparents with the exact staircase and design of the upstairs including the placement of the beds. If you had farmhouses in the fam you will feel right at home. I loved the hand soap, lotion, snacks and coffee they provided and the soaking Jetted tub My gosh! . I thank you from the bottom of my heart as we are not there for fun but going through some very difficult circumstances and comfort means alot right now. We appreciate having such a lovely place to come back to!

Five stars! Christy is a wonderful host and made our stay in Cedarville, California, very enjoyable. We encountered a minor, unforeseen issue with the heat in one of the rooms, but Christy immediately sent a kind and helpful gentleman who quickly resolved it. The home offered a lovely and charming country stay, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Modoc County. Each room was thoughtfully furnished, with many small touches that showed great attention to detail. I especially appreciated practical features like a well-placed bathroom hook — a small but often overlooked convenience that made a big difference. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly stay here again without hesitation!

Kacy is the ultimate hostess! She was in constant communication with us to make sure that we got into the place easily and that everything met our expectations. Even before we got there, she reached out to see if we needed anything from the grocery store that she could stock in the refrigerator! And to top things off, on Christmas morning she came over and gave us a sweet Christmas gift🎄 She always went over and above to make sure we were comfortable, which is awesome! The place itself was perfect for us. She has made it a perfect bungalow in the country, but close to town. I'd recommend this sweet abode to anyone heading to Alturas!

Im on a 13 week traveling nurse contract in Alturas. I love the open rural areas with wildlife in abundance. Stephen was very responsive to my texts and questions. Many new friends felt I was paying too much but his place was less than the first place I stayed for 6 weeks! A bit like OC prices🤔

Very clean lots of extra stuff to use great location altogether well worth the stay
