North Vancouver has been my home since 2006 and I feel lucky to live in such a beautiful area. I'm also glad to be close to my granddaughter and her parents (my main reason for moving here) and to be part of a lively cohousing community with everything that that entails: common meals, gardening, compost, parties, hanging out and lots of discussions as well as a steep learning curve when it comes to things like group process and how to have meetings that people actually want to attend.
Before coming to Canada, I was in New Mexico (truly the 'land of enchantment') for many years and I wish it were practical to migrate there in the winter and spend most of the rest of the year in Vancouver. I love traveling and have lived and worked in Japan and Nicaragua. I also enjoy camping, hiking, yoga, reading. Though it can be distressing, I try to follow current events and lately have become increasingly interested in the subject of peak oil, with all of its implications for energy and the economy.
