Outgoing active person, willing to help people to know my city and tyhe surroundings.
Waiting for you.
Walter's place is perfect for an extended stay in Cusco. Located on Plazita San Borja, the apartment is large, airy and quite comfortable. But even more important is Walter himself. We got careless one day and left a bag in a Taxi. Laptop, camera, phone all gone. When Walter heard of it he immediately started trying to help us track down the cab. No luck, but Walter demonstrated what a concerned and involved landlord he is.He loaned us a phone, offered to help with the documents and generally did everything and more to help.
Back to the apartment. It's two bedrooms with a large kitchen. Plenty of room to cook. The bathroom is also good size with great hot water and water pressure. Walter's mother and niece also live in the building and they are as kind and helpful as Walter.
Looking over the Plaza, watching the sun come up over the mountains, walking across the street to get lunch, easy access to all the markets these are things we will treasure.
Oh,yes, one more thing. Walter is a certified guide and knows all the ins and outs of travel to Machu Picchu, Nazca, and the Lake.
Would we go back? In a heartbeat.
Thanks, Walter and pass it on to your Mom and Milagros.
Very nice apartment short taxi ride from main sights. Taxi is cheap though. Walter is a delight and very helpful.
The flat is located in a nice area and is secure and safe.
The flat is neat and clean overlooking a big plaza. It is located about 25 minutes walk from the center of town, but taxis are very cheap, 4 soles will take you to Plaza de Armas.
The flat's dining room has a large bay window overlooking the plaza and the mountains. We loved looking at the daily life around us. During the day the sun shine in and warms the rooms,
We shopped at a local produce market close by. We cooked our own food and loved the convenience.
The apartment is beautiful, and Walter and his family are exceedingly accommodating and personable. Highly recommended.
This is a very good apartment in a residential area in a modern building. It's got everything you need, and it's particularly nice to have gas-powered hot water in both the kitchen and the bath / shower (I have never seen hot water in the kitchen sink in any other place I've stayed in Peru, and I have stayed in a few). It's also got its own washing machine which comes in handy, as the places where you can drop off washing tend to be in the centre.
The centre is easily reachable by taxi, and there is also a regular bus service (Horizonte) running along the main road. I have also walked it in 25min, though there is no scenic route.
Walter was the best! We arrived two hours early at 4 am and he was there to let us in. Walter was helpful with everything. He left us a cell phone in the apt so we could keep in touch if we had any questions or needed help. Walter is a guide himself so he had lots of helpful tips to visit tourist attractions like machu picchu and sights in cusco. Furthermore his niece lives in the same house as the apt is in and she is very sweet and she also helped us to organize stuff.
We stayed with our two small children in Walters apt. It was great to have two bedrooms with four beds and a large living room and kitchen. We loved the view out of the window and it is very nice to stay in a non tourist neighborhood when visiting cusco. A taxi from Walters place to the center of the city costs about 3-4 soles. The apt is fine, there is a nice hot shower, a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of space for luggage. The house is very charming and the apt has lots of big windows offering a nice view. We would definitely stay at Walters place again, it is a very good value and again we appreciated it a lot not to stay in an all touristic area.
Walter was very responsive. In addition, his mother, son and niece stopped by to ensure that we were doing okay. It was a team effort; the whole family was exceedingly friendly, gracious and helpful.
The apartment is on the third floor of a working class neighborhood. It is close to the bus terminal and a relatively easy thirty-minute walk to the historic downtown area. There's space in the bedroom for you to unpack; the kitchen and dining room/living room are functional, but spartan. The beds were very comfortable with warm comforters (It does get a bit cold in the evenings). Very quiet neighbors. Overall, a good option to consider when in Cusco.
I enjoyed my stay (about a month) in Walter's apartment. It is located in a regular middle class area where you can see what daily life looks (and sounds!) like, but not far from the main tourist area, which means the best of both worlds.
The apartment is simply but pleasantly furnished, with all the necessities. Hot water is hot; wifi is good (dropped out occasionally but rarely for long), can't comment on cable TV because I never watched it; and kitchen has everything necessary for cooking fresh produce from the market (don't even bother with the supermarkets).
In particular, Walter is very helpful, as are his niece Milagros and his mother, who live downstairs. Whenever I had any questions or problems with anything in the apartment, Milagros was very quick to help, which makes such a difference.
Great option for a long-term stay in Cusco.
Everything was exactly as Walter stated. He was attentive to our arrival and his Madre was there to great us and make sure everything was as we needed. Went above and beyond to arrange a taxi to the train station for us. We would definitely recommend Walter.
We appreciated our time at Walter's flat. Walter met us at the airport and showed us around the flat the first day. He spoke great English. He is a guide in Peru and thus was very knowledgeable about the area and had some good recommendations. The building is secure and we felt safe during our stay. There are some local markets nearby where you can purchase groceries. I would recommend that you have a working knowledge of Spanish since you will need it to get by in the markets and with cabs to get into downtown.
The flat was very clean and comfortable. The stove and hot water were finicky at times, but we always got it to work. We found that having wifi was a huge benefit during our stay, however, during thunderstorms it would go out.
Overall, we were very glad we stayed here and thought it was a great way to see Cusco. Thank you Walter!
