Cute apartment, welcoming hosts, I enjoyed my stay!
I stayed with Pepa and Frederique for 2 months during my internship in NY. The room was perfect for me because I got everything I needed: a good heater, a desk, a big closet and a comfortable chair and reading lamps. The whole place was always clean and Pepa and Frederique treated me like a family member rather than just a guest. They will respect your privacy and your own space but whenever you need them for anything they will be there.
I also loved the neighbourhood, which is very safe and quiet. The train (G) is within 10 minute walk. I could either choose to walk past a police station or through the Pratt Institute so it was very safe for me even at late night. Close to both Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn.
There is also a good supermarket nearby so you can buy anything 24/7. Laundry is right in the building's basement and if you are a person who enjoys doing laundry yourself (like me), you will like it.
I'd recommend the room to anyone who needs a safe and quiet place to stay in NY. I consider myself very lucky to have Pepa and Frederique as my hosts!
I definitively enjoyed my stay with Pepa and Frederique for about 5 weeks while working in Manhatten and have to say thank you very much to both for being so kind and supportive. Pepa and Frederique were very nice, thoughtful and welcoming and offered me any help, tipps or recommendations I could have needed. The whole flat (in a renovated modern building) is clean and tidy and a cleaning lady comes every two weeks. The bedroom is small, but very cozy and the bed is really comfortable. It is a quiet and safe area of Brooklyn with a lot of shops, restaurants and cafes around, so you can find everything for the daily use in short walking distance. The commute to Downtown in the morning took me about 40 min. and also in the evening I felt safe on my way home. This place is a great alternative for living in Manhatten and therefore I can recommend to stay here!
This was my very first AirBnB stay and I can honestly say that it was a truly excellent experience!
The hosts, Pepa & Frederique, are really wonderful. Both are super nice, down to earth, accommodating, very interesting, and have impeccable taste.
Their place absolutely delivers on their listing's title of "Private room in beautiful loft". The apartment has a very spacious feel with high loft space walls, and has beautiful hardwood floors with gorgeous dark wood-beam ceilings. And as a fan of design and art, I really enjoyed & appreciated the aesthetic of the hosts' furniture and interior design of their space.
Their private room I stayed in is spacious and bright with a large window, and has a full closet to hang clothes and place things, a desk to work at, and on mini-shelves above the desk are guide books for NYC/Brooklyn and other interesting reads.
Pepa & Frederique offered me dedicated space in their fridge and kitchen cupboards for any groceries I wanted to get (and, of course, use of their kitchen), space in their bathroom cabinet for my toiletries, and use of their very comfortable and attractive living room space and dining area.
Location-wise, their place is in a great location! It is right near Pratt Institute (an Art College with beautiful campus grounds), and offers lots of options for restaurant, bars, and cafes just a few blocks away in a couple of directions. And about a 10 minute walk away is a great park in Fort Greene Park, which has a very nice view from its hill-top platform area.
Close by, as well, are a couple of subway/metro stations on the G line, making it very easy to get around to other parts of Brooklyn and into Manhattan (with just one easy transfer).
I felt very safe in the area, especially with being able to walk through the Pratt campus to the subway station, as Pratt has its own dedicated security staff around the campus.
I really enjoyed my stay with Pepa & Frederique, and felt very much at home there right away. I highly recommend a stay in their beautiful loft space, and I will definitely aim to book their private room again on my next trip to NYC/Brooklyn!
Thank you Pepa & Frederique!
I really enjoyed my stay in NYC with Pepa and Frederique. They were fantastic, very welcoming and attentive. The place is amazing as well, nice flow, neat design, clean and conveniently located! I would certainly stay there again and will recommend to my friends without any hesitation
Pepa and Frederique are awesome hosts, but more importantly, good people! They made me feel very welcome, like part of the family. I really enjoyed my stay with them! Their loft is both neat and clean and the building is secure and located in a safe, quiet neighborhood. I highly recommend staying with Pepa and Frederique!
Pepa and Fredrique are charming hosts. When I arrived, they shared their coffee, and when I mentioned renting a bike to explore Brooklyn, Pepa let me borrow her bike for the day! It set the tone for the rest of my stay.
It’s a safe neighborhood close to Pratt campus, and there are great restaurants all along Dekalb street. I took the nearby G train (which is notorious for arriving late) to get around, though every time I needed to take it, it was just pulling up!
Their place is definitely the most sophisticated space I've stayed while in Brooklyn. It was a great experience, and I will look into staying here again on my next visit. Recommended!
Stayed with Pepa and Frederique for 15 weeks while on internship in Manhattan. Their gated building is located in a quiet area of Brooklyn, near many restaurants and coffee shops. Pratt's beautifully landscaped campus is just down the street. I always felt safe walking, even at night. The nearest subway stop is about a 5 minute walk away and the commute into Midtown East took about 40 minutes. The common areas of the building had just been renovated prior to my stay. There is an elevator and coin laundry in the basement. Their second-floor unit is located on the back of the building. The apartment has a loft aesthetic with high ceilings, exposed timber beams, hardwood floors, and window air conditioners. It is filled with unique and interesting mementos the two have collected over the years. The bedroom for rent is good size, quiet, has a large window, and a decent size closet. Pepa and Frederique have lived in the unit for about 4 years and always had great suggestions for things to do and see. They were very thoughtful, respectful, and conscientious and couldn't have been better hosts.
I stayed with Pepa and Fredrique for a month to relocate to New York. I could not have asked for a better place to base myself.
It is such a peaceful place and the hosts are fun and informative yet they let you get on with your business when you want to. Clinton Hill is a gem of a spot I have now moved here. Pepas place is right beside Pratt, Highly recommended.
There are not enough superlatives to describe my stay with Frederique and Pepa. They are wonderful hosts- warm, funny, smart, considerate, helpful. Their loft is of minimalist aesthetic, filled with interesting books and tasteful art and calm atmosphere. Vibrant Clinton Hill features easily accessible subway lines, grocers, cafe's, banks and a post office.
I highly recommend a stay with them!!!!!
A great guest. We would welcome her back anytime
Pepa and her family were wonderful guests. They were very cheery and enthusiastic about their trip. They were quite pleasant as well as being super neat and quiet. They left the apartment in perfect shape and we would have them stay with us again anytime. They were great!!
Pepa was a great guest. I wish we had been able to chat more as I could tell she is a very interesting person. She was quiet, clean, polite and had a really nice vibe. I might take her up on the offer to stay at her place in Brooklyn! I would definitely have her again, anytime.
