My girlfriend and I stayed at Richard's apartment for nine days in May/June 2012. It was a wonderful experience. The apartment is not huge but is definitely comfortable for a couple, and the combination of location and price can't be beat. It's located right at the heart of the East Village and there is a plethora of restaurants and entertainment around (of the nearby places, we particularly enjoyed the Japanese restaurant on the corner of 1st avenue and 10th street, and the raw vegan restaurant Quintessence a few doors away from the apartment on 10th street). Subway is a few blocks away, and it doesn't take long to make it anywhere in New York - Upper East Side, Midtown, Theatre District, or Brooklyn.
Haven't met Richard in person, but his correspondence was very prompt and he took effort to leave as much information as possible about the apartment. Overall, it was a great time, and we would definitely like to stay there again next time we're in New York.
This apartment, was a great place for us to stay in NY.
The place is clean and equipped with the most necessary household items you could need during a stay in NY.
It is located at the fifth floor. That are a lot of stairs to take after a long day walking but the effort returns a quiet and pleasant apartment.
The location in east village is really ideal, a few blocks away is the K-mart and the subway is even closer.
Lots of restaurants are located nearby in any style and price you like.
There is a park nearby, where there are markets and other great places.
Richard is an good host, he answers emails very quickly and with more than enough details.
Don't seek further, if you want a clean place on a good location, than this is the place you should book.
Richard was a pleasure to deal with. He is very prompt in replying and was extremely flexible with dates. He even met with us before our stay to brief us about the apartment and hand over the keys.
The apartment was fabulous to stay in. It is located in a great position in the East Village, near to many great restuarants, bars, and shopping. The apartment building is very nice and the neighbours are extremely friendly and helpful.
We had two people occupying the apartment, one staying in the bedroom and one sleeping on the futon. There was enough space for both of us to live comfortably. We were staying during a quite hot and humid period, and luckily Richard's apartment came with fans and an air conditioner, so the heat was avoided. The internet and computer access was also really helpful.
Be aware that the apartment is up a few flights of stairs with no elevator, so don't attempt it in high heels!
Overall, a great stay.. We will definitely be back if Richard will have us!
Richard is an excellent host. His apartment is located in a great location for anyone visiting the city. The thing I really appreciate about Richard was his responsiveness.
We had a really great stay! The apartment was clean and in a great location. Richard is really friendly and quickly replied to any communication. I would highly recommend staying here.
Richard's apartament is in a fantastic location. Easy access to multiple metro lines, bus stop, restaurants, bars (there is also a "24 hrs shop" in the corner by for those little items you may need) literally everything just a block or 2 away. Also it is very quiet in the flat, so getting some shut eye was very easy. Flat is very clean, including the bathroom and kitchen. We highly recommend this place and would book it again. He is a great host!
Richard and his gaggle of guys were a dream to host. They were communicative and respectful. The space was left clean and they really seemed to get the most out of the space. They explored some of the best and hidden parts of the Lou' and I hope their experience at Dwell 912 Bed and Breakfast ranks among their great memories.
Great guest! Welcome back anytime :)
