Aleza was the sweetest, most generous and considerate host I've never met (due to scheduling conflicts mainly on my part). Nevertheless she completely went above and beyond to make sure our party of five had everything we needed during the whole stay and kept in touch with us even during her own anniversary night celebration. She answered all of our pre-trip questions with enthusiasm and detail that it made our trip in Austin a complete success. It really helps having a local by your side and Aleza is very knowledgeable about her city.
Her house has so much character in it we felt like it could tell a story. We had such a great time staying in it. We saw no issues with the location even when we returned wayyy past midnight and always felt safe. Without a doubt I would stay with her again and wish I find someone like her in all my future Airbnb stays.

It's a private little cottage near the city center of austin.
You can reach the city center in about ten and fifteen minuits by food.
The cottage was well furnished - bath room, hairdryer, microwave, heater and fridge - and clean. Even the fridge was filled with basics like water and marmelade.
Altough she wasn't at home everything was well organized.
All in all we really recommand the cottage - also in winter time!
We didn't get to meet Aleza but she was always very responsive to questions & requests. The cottage itself is basic but very cute, and all you need. It got a bit chill when we were there but Aleza bought more blankets. There is good heating, we just don't like to run it all night. We didn't have a car so did a lot if walking & negotiated the bus system to get into the heart of Austin (not far). We however really liked East Austin & I'd recommend spending your time here. Good bars, restaurants & of course the food trucks. A cool area to be. I reckon the cottage verandah would be a great spot in the warmer months too.
It was such a pleasure to stay at Aleza's place while I was visiting Austin. The room was clean & tidy, and Aleza is very kind and accommodating. Our schedules only overlapped as I was leaving, but just the same I felt warmly welcomed the whole time. (And her dogs are super friendly and respectful, too!)
We had a great stay in Austin. Aleza was always prompt to respond and very pleasant. Truthfully we did start to get a little nervous driving through the area to get to the cottage but the cottage was super cute and we had no problems.
I had a great stay in the cottage. I walked and rode the bike that Aleza provided and was able to easily get around the city. The cottage was cozy and I really appreciated the box of maps and local information she had available.
Aleza and Jon were so accommodating. Between us arriving earlier than expected on a weekday afternoon to lending us their bicycles in a pinch to giving us directions, their flexibility and generosity made for an awesome experience. The home itself is so cute, and suited our needs perfectly (there were four of us staying here). The location can't be beat. It is incredibly convenient to downtown- walkable if you're up for a bit of exercise- as well as a number of very yummy restaurants and food trucks that seem to have made 11th street a pretty neat pocket of town. Our biggest regret is not having an extra day to wait in line at Franklin, which is literally a ten minute walk down the street, in order to try the legendary BBQ. There was a CVS down the street as well for the little things we forgot, and the airport was a $20 cab ride away. Thank you Aleza and Jon!
Justin I was honored to have you as my guest. What a gentle soul you are! I wish the best for you and I only wish you and Rohan could have played guitar together. Next time I hope.
Thank you for bringing your energy to my place and thank you for helping at Isabelle farms to bring that wonderful harvest to feed folks such lovingly cared for food!
The Berubes were delightful! So respectful of the property - left it better than when arrived. Everyone should be so lucky to have them visit : )
I already reviewed this guest and it's listed under my reviews.
Very pleasant and easy to deal with. I'd be happy to have her stay again.
I am a long-time friend and fan of Justin, Aleza and John. The three of them under the same roof is like Mercury, Venus, and the moon aligning to form a smiley-face shadow in front of an ice cream store.
I had the pleasure of staying with Justin and Aleza in Thailand with my wife while they were teaching English there. They were amazing hosts, drove us around, lent us their motor cycle, and even cared for us while we were ill.
You are wise and blessed to stay with these good people.
As a longtime friend of both Justin and Aleza, I can say that they are both warm, kind people. They are as friendly with new folks as they are with their old friends, and are extremely generous people. Whether they are tending the plants in their garden, fashioning chairs out of antique lumber, or stewing up a big pot of soup, they are homegrown, down-to-earth people.
Aleza is awesome, and not just 'cause she married our son, Justin. She's so full of life and fun and you'll love her as much as we do. We've known her since 2000 and we've traveled the world with her and Justin (Asia, Europe, America--she's also been to South America) and you couldn't find a better person to travel with or just have as a companion. She and Justin have lived in Illinois, Thailand, California, and Texas and can tell you lots of fun stuff to do in Austin. You won't find better AirBnB hosts.
Full disclosure: Aleza is our favorite daughter-in-law!
I have known Aleza for over a decade and she is a close friend, as well as my sister-in-law. The home she shares with my brother and their high school buddy Jon is as cute, cozy and comfortable as they come! Bright, open and uniquely decorated! I have spent weeks at a time there and I am always made to feel right at home. Aleza is one of the most considerate and thoughtful people that I know, and will make your stay a very enjoyable experience.
Even if you are a seasoned traveller, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who is a more natural and gracious host than Aleza, Justin, and Jon. They are kind, fun, and all-around delightful people. We were all buddies in high school and have been tight knit ever since. Staying with them has always been an easy joy for us and I know future visitors will feel the same way. If you like things that are good and awesome, you should stay here! ;)
