Born in Texas and bred in Louisiana, I now live in Los Angeles as a restauranteur. I love to travel, especially to islands and other beach destinations
Paula was a great host. No hassle, never saw her once. The house was clean organized and in a beautiful setting. It was really spacious with super comfortable beds for our family of 4. View from the deck is AMAZING!!! Will definitely stay again when in LA area.
We are travelling with our two teen kids from Turkey. Stayed in santa monica 3 nights, in las vegas 4 nights and then stayed in this property gor 6 nights. Paula was great host. House is nicely located. 5 minutes drive to Hollywood blvd. 5 minutes to many nice cafes. Quite and elite neigborhood. Plenty of room for four.Nice terace for breakfast. Wish there was a wash machine but Paula suggested a close laundry to help. Wifi and tv works perfect. Sheets clean and hot water present at all times. Kitchen small but enough for vacation cooking. Definetly would stay again and recomend. Thanks
This home (and location) was very nice. Paula was an excellent and very accommodating host as well. I would stay again.
Paula was very hospitable. House was perfectly ready for us on our weekend stay. Would definitely recommend staying here!!
What a pleasure. Paula's place was perfect for me and my colleague. Well organized, clean, and a beautiful setting. Plenty of room to relax. Definitely a great place to stay for a family or multiple travelers. The small kitchen worked out just fine. Cell range was spotty, but worked out. Internet worked perfectly. Thanks Paula!
Paula was wonderful, the house was great, perfect for our family vacation. Thank you so much Paula.
We had a wonderfully comfortable stay in Hollywood. The neighborhood was quaint, quiet and convenient to tourist attractions. The apartment was clean and well equipped for a family of 5. The beds were very comfortable. I would go back again in a heartbeat.
Paula was great. No hassle. Comfortable place, close to griffith park, spacious rooms, small kitchen, great views.
Two couples spent 3 nights at Malibu Ranch House. The house is truly 1940's vintage and was an interesting and nice place to spend our long weekend. We had to contact Paula only once, but she was readily available. The stove also appears to be 1940's vintage, but we were able to get it to work and had no problems. The oven is and takes some time to warm up. The size limits the number of things that can be cooked at one time. Keep this in mind if planning a large dinner. The kitchen does have a dishwasher...a nice non-1940's touch! Our bed was comfortable, but the other couple complained that their bed was small and not very comfortable. The house is actually quite roomy, was clean, and had the necessary kitchen items. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, but was OK. The backyard has a nice sitting area and made for a great place to have breakfast. It is pleasant, but traffic noise from the road below is fairly constant.
The location is close to several beaches and not far from Santa Monica or Thousand Oaks if you are interested in traveling in those directions. We used the house as a base for beach time, surfing, and bicycling.
If you are interested in being electronically connected at all times this may not be the place for you. AT&T phone reception was nonexistent; however, 1 member of our party had Verizon and had no difficulty. The WiFi in the house was not working while we were there. We were able to use the WiFi from the main house, but were confined to a relatively small area when using it and often the transmission was slow.
Would I recommend the Ranch House to a friend? Maybe. It depends upon the number of people and what they want to do. I would say the same thing for myself. Maybe yes; maybe no. It would depend upon the number of people and what we all wanted to do.
Paula answered all of my questions, was flexible with regards to my check-in and -out times, and was accommodating to my request to host a dinner at her beautiful home. The day that I arrived she had a table set up on the deck, which was extremely useful for my dinner (thank you!). There is a good size refrigerator, enough plates and utensils for 6 people, it was quiet, clean, and the view from the deck was amazing during the day. It was a 10 to 15 minute drive down to the bars, clubs, and attractions on Sunset and Hollywood Blvd. Definitely a great place to stay!!
