I am a mother, artist and real estate professional. Originally from London, England; I have been in California for 12 years and live on the property with my two very young children.
Any and the property were wonderful - very kid friendly. Our trip was a success and very enjoyable!!! A+++ HOSTESS !!!
This was our 2nd stay on Amy's property, not sure which we liked better, the House just next to the Pool or the House in the front of the property with 2 bedrooms. Either way we would easily stay here again in either property. Our 3 y/o son loved the Pool, the Horses & the enclosed yard. The location was in close proximity to downtown L.A. & other fun things in Griffith Park. The setting felt tranquil despite being so close to such a busy city. Both accommodations were neat, clean, stylish & well appointed. Thanks Amy for making us feel so welcome.
Amy's guest house was the perfect place for me- a great place to stay in Burbank. The guesthouse is bright, fresh and very spacious The patio and pool / hot tub are right outside the door.
Amy was a great host, quick to answer any questions and very helpful .
I would highly recommend this place!
Amy was a fabulous host, and the place was absolutely wonderful. Thanks for having me for so long! See you soon.
The cottage by the pool was a delightful refuge after days spent with our energetic grandchildren.
Amy was a helpful and very pleasant host. We hope to return next time we visit the LA area.
Lovely, peaceful, serene and extremely private. I only wish I could have extended my stay, and maybe taken one of the horses out for a ride. Also, the sushi place down the street is very, very good!!
Absolutely magnificent! Am so thrilled I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful estate again. Amy is truly amazing! An incredible experience and I miss them!! Really hope to be back very, very soon if they'll have me!! Simply extraordinary here…what a find! Thank you again Amy!
My wife and our 19 month twins had a lovely time at Amy's. Amy even baked us cookies- twice! We were visiting family in the area for Thanksgiving and stayed for ten days. We will stay with Amy (based on availability) when returning to visit family.
The following information is for families with toddlers: There flat is essentially two bedrooms with a smaller room that can act as a small study. We setup on pack&play in one bedroom and the second in the small room. The pack&plays fit fine. There is no bath, but instead a large spacious tiled shower. Our twins were fine with showering, through it took a few days for them to get used to it as they had only baths. We were able to adequately "toddler proof" the flat in about an hour by using ties (you know the baby proofing kind) and masking tape (always carry masking tape). We asked Amy for some additional items (e.g., towels and blankets), which she quickly provided.
The neighborhood is very safe and feels very safe. Starbucks, some fast food restaurants, and a large grocery store with pharmacy are a 15 minute walk. There are parks within a short drive.
The Estate is magical! What a find in LA. Amy is absolutely wonderful, as is the community she has created. It is so serene and perfect, she even baked cookies! It's hard to say what I love most about staying here, this is my second time, everything feels top notch. The beds, bedding and pillows are unbelievably comfortable. The unique and very thought out furniture feels as if one is in a cottage in Europe. Cleanliness is so important and everything (the grounds, cottage, pool, jacuzzi...) is so pristine. Amy has always been available if I've needed anything, and gone out of her way to make sure everything is perfect. Two of the best perks are Curly and Misty! Two rescued horses that live on the property. It was so much fun to visit them a few times a day, taking them apples and carrots. Their presence on the Estate added so much life and joy. The location is perfect as well. There is a park up the street, the infamous Griffith Park, and Los Angeles Zoo right around the corner, freeway access is close by...everything one needs. You have the convenience of the city at your fingertips, yet at the same time, feels worlds away. An all time favorite! Thank you Amy!
Amy was a great host. She is incredibly responsive and thoughtful. Her guest house and the property are also some of the best and luxurious availabel on AirBNB. I would love to stay here again. Thank you Amy!
A lovely guest. Polite with a real appreciation for rental spaces. Every interaction was a pleasure. She's one of the reasons we do this, it is such a great way to meet others.
Amy was a great guest! I would have her and her family back anytime. She took care of the house nicely and did a great job cleaning before our return. I recommend her as a guest.
Amy sweetly checked into our apartment, making a "put-together" impression, even though she needed the place immediately because she was leaving her husband. We felt bad for her, told her we're right next door if she needed anything.. She accepted the bottle of wine we offered, our DVD player we installed for her son's kiddie films. She asked for cleaning stuff & a vase which we supplied. She declined our offer to have our housekeeper clean weekly. Amy left her infant daughter in a pool of urine on my newly upholstered sofa (where she fed her, so spilled formula on top of urine). No cleaning attempted. (We frequently have foster dogs- when accidents happen, they are easily cleaned up if you may the effort.-- or ask us to since we live adjacent). Her toddler roamed unattended through our cactus- not a wise risk. He also used chairs/tables as bumper cars, forcefully enough to leave dents. Amy put a chair with steel legs ON TOP of our wooden dining table (why not the stone countertop instead?) to feed her infant (when not dribbling food down her onto my sofa). This chair was raked across the table. Amy moved out quickly/quietly on a day we were home right next door and left a breezy message about being gone. She then fought me on the security deposit even though I had verbal estimates from the upholsterer (who'd just done the sofa) and the painter (who'd just done the interior and who could polish the scratches out of the table). I had to spend time documenting all this for AirBnB-- it was easy but took too much time. Amy THEN (after wasting my time) caved on the deposit ($500 toward almost $800 in damage). Then, a couple weeks after her tenure she showed up and climbed over my fence and boosted our ladder- seeking revenge? We use the ladder to wash the windows on that-- the tall side-- of the house. (Why would someone checking into a BnB bring a huge ladder anyway??). I've filed a police report and will prosecute. I have photos and receipts of all her damage, and I'd be happy to share them with you. We're new to AirBnB, but we have 50+ positive reviews (0 negative) on other sites. Amy claims I held her "possessions" hostage. She abandoned worthless "sundries" (her word)-- some almost empty Raisin Bran and oatmeal boxes and a couple of diapers. I offered to send these to her home for shipping & handling fees (as a hotel would) since she's un- welcome at my home (after trashing it, fighting me on the deposit...)-- then I saw her climbing over my gate. Amy's profile says "Real Estate Professional"- no web search I've done can find any accreditation or membership in any professional group.-- so don't take comfort there. Amy's challenged and I'm sorry for her-- but avoiding responsibility and vilifying others is never a solution. I hope she turns things around, for the sake of her...
