I am a photographer and videographer living in Chiang Mai Thailand. I love travelling, eating and scuba diving.
Staying at "The Hut" is truly an unique experience. Every inch of the place was super clean and insects-free eventhough we are surrounded by all the beautiful flowers and bushes. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for an alternative kind of accommodation.
The hut is perfect.Marisa and her mother virgnia are very kind and helpful. We borrowed their bikes to go to the Nest for lunch(food is delicous). There's a sign to the (URL HIDDEN) Feb it's a bit cold in the night and early morning. The soap of sabu sabu is also very good.
We loved the hut the moment we stepped in. We spent our entire 1.5 days resting, reading and enjoying the serenity. Virginia (Marisa's mother) and Marisa made our stay very comfortable. Marisa was very responsive to our questions before we arrived at The Hut and also booked transport for us from our previous accommodation. Virginia also helped us order food for dinner as we didn't want to travel out to the city. And the massage they arranged for us was good, plus in the comfort of The Hut! We also borrowed their bikes to cycle out for lunch the next day to a nearby place called The Nest (the food is great!), didn't take us more than 10 minutes.
It was pretty chilly as Chiang Mai is having a cold spell so if you are planning to go during this period I would recommend bringing warmer clothes especially for the night.
Thank you Marisa and Virginia for a wonderful time at The Hut! We will definitely be back!
The hut itself was amazing, very spacious and very beautiful. Could feel the serenity as soon as you arrive. Overlooking the rice patties as the sun came up and eating warm crossaints provided by Marisa and her family was the highlight. Staying outside the city was not an inconvenience as long as your hire a motorbike. Otherwise taxis too and fro would be expensive at about 400 baht per way to the city.
In the winter the hut can get quite cold so pack a jumper and expect a lack of water from the rain shower at a very cold temperature.
All in all, nice stay.
It was an out of the world experience but it was cold in winter as wind was not blocked in the shower room and heater not hot enough for a shower. However the breakfast was good and soap by Sabu Sabu is really nice.
The hut is one of the most unique Airbnb's I've ever stayed in. We booked it for our Honeymoon and had a great time. Marissa was very accommodating, helping us book a taxi both to and from the listing every night. She also made us a delicious breakfast every morning. We loved just sitting at the little table watching the rice paddy farmers do their thing.
The one thing to know about this listing is that it's about a 30 minute taxi ride from downtime, and you'll need Marissa's help getting the taxi home (since most of the taxis we tried didn't have a great idea of where this listing was). So if you want to spend a lot of time there, it could get annoying. But if you're looking for a peaceful beautiful one-of-a-kind Airbnb listing, this is the place.
We really enjoyed our stay at Marisa's hut. Though it was only one night, she and her family were friendly and very helpful to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. She helped arrange a taxi which was just 30mins drive from the old city. Once we arrived we soon discovered a peaceful rice fields and neighborhood around. The hut was very clean and beautifully designed with bamboo, relaxing to let us enjoy the circumstance throughout the stay. We also very appreciated her breakfast which made us feel her hospitality. Their natural products were also must see we ended up buying all our souvenirs there. Highly recommend!
Marisa is an excellent host, if you worry that the hut is far from the city you really should not as the taxi ride is only 20 minutes and Marisa is always around to answer your messages even late into the evening to help you set up transportation to get back home.
If you are a light sleeper suggest to bring ear plugs as the cicadas can be singing quite a song at night in the trees surrounding the hut.
Every morning we had a stellar breakfast as well, thank you so much Marisa!
We have a wonderful stay at hut,Marisa and her family are very nice, absolutely recommend!By the way,do not missing their natural product｡
The Hut by Sabu-Sabu was even more stunning than in its airbnb pictures. Set on the grounds of the Sabu-Sabu store and home (don't leave without their sumptuous all-natural body products!), our stay in the charming hut was encapsulated by views of rice paddy fields, new year lanterns floating in the distance, and the genuine grace of our hosts - Marisa & Virginia. Thank you, ladies, for accommodating us and doing all you could to make our stay more comfortable x
Come back soon Rachel! There are direct flights from Singapore :)
Her and her friends left the place in great condition, we would welcome them anytime. Excellent communication on their arrival time and departure.
