Shopping

Lesser known fact that it is the largest shopping mall in the province of Ontario, so for people who love to shop, this is the mall to head to. Also, the food court has been upgraded and offers a great selection of cuisines to satisfy your appetite from spending money all day.

Ideally you want to have a car to get around Heartland as it isn't really a shopping mall. Stores are quite spread out over a few block radius. You'll find more discount shopping in this area compared to Square One such as outlet stores.

There are only a handful of Whole Foods Markets scattered around the Toronto area, so it's really convenient to have one so close by. Great place to find organic produce and healthy alternatives to traditional grocery stores. There's also a wide variety of ready made food choices available, grab a take-out container and start filling it with whatever you desire, pay by the weight of your food and you're good to go. The breakfast buffet is worth waking up for, but keep in mind it's only available on Sunday mornings.

Food Scene

I've recently discovered this gem. Amazing authentic polish cuisine that I crave every time I drive by or visit the fruit market in the same plaza. The food is delicious and the servings are very generous. The staff has always been kind to me, especially when I have one too many questions for them. The pork shoulder, schnitzel, cabbage rolls, dumplings, carrot salad, cucumber salad, coleslaw..everything is great and very hearty!

This is my go-to Vietnamese restaurant in the area. The pho is always amazing, but I also love to order the Vermicelli dishes and rice dishes. Don't forget to order some spring rolls (fresh or fried), and iced coffee (ca phe sua da) to complete your meal. Service is friendly and fast and servings are generous.

Hakka cuisine has slowly but surely made its way to becoming a staple cuisine in the Toronto area. This is in my opinion, the best Hakka restaurant in the area, and I've tried them all. For those new to Hakka food, keep in mind many of the dishes are spicy, and that's an understatement! But, it's damn good food. Chilli chicken (gravy), chilli fish, manchurian chicken, shrimp pakoras, manchurian chowmein, hakka chowmein...are some of my go-to dishes.

Mama & Papa type pizza joint, my go-to pizza delivery in the Mississauga area. The pizza is always hot & fresh and delivery has always been consistently faster than all other pizza delivery options in the area. I usually order their Super pizza and I recommend well-done, garlic dipping sauce for the end crusts, and a pound of wings...perfect!

Drinks & Nightlife

This is where the locals in the Port Credit area love to spend their evenings. Competing with a strip of bars and restaurants on Lakeshore Avenue, this place stands out above the rest. The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the live music keeps you wanting to stay longer and eat and drink a little more. The owner is a true workaholic and knows what he's doing, so it's no wonder the place is always lively.

Parks & Nature

Over 200 acres of greenery, it's a great place to go for a walk or run, take a nice stroll along the Credit River with your dog, or even stroll into the river and cast a few flies for salmon and trout. There are open fields for outdoor activities from picnics to tossing the frisbee. The Credit River has some incredible salmon and trout runs a couple times during the year, fly fishing and float fishing are popular along the Credit that runs through Erindale Park. Parking is free and usually plentiful but try to get there a little earlier on the weekends especially during the Summer season.
