It's just around the corner of the house and one of the most famous spots in vienna - this is where the empress Sissi had her chambers, the gardens around the castle are beautiful and sprawling, and it contains the best zoo in Europe!

the 7th district is also nice to see, it's more artsy, young, liberal, and has a lot of young designer fashion, and bars of course. Right around the corner is the shopping street Mariahilferstrasse that you could stroll down

I think one has to see at least one of the flak towers (complexes of large, above-ground, anti-aircraft gun blockhouse towers ) in Vienna. This one hosts the 'Haus des Meeres', a giant aquarium. Even if you don't wanna go in, you you can go to the top of the tower for 8 EUR and have a great view of Vienna!
