Get to Brisbane for day- and Brisbane airport directly- excellent railway- new clean carriers and not expensive. You can go other way to Robina too should you wish.

The main train line runs from Brisbane Airport express to the Gold Coast. From Nerang station you can catch buses into Broadbeach. From there you can catch the tram GLINK to take you through Surfers all the way up to Southport.
