A real Japanese gastropub. Great menu, and a POPULAR place in the neighborhood run by a Japanese owner. If you want sushi and a fun menu, try this place

The Sake House is at La Brea and 8th a block south of Wilshire but it is really good and worth the trip.

Izakaya style restaurant. Steer away from the sushi -- better if you're in the mood for skewers from the grill. Good prices, but mostly we come for the energy -- lots of beer flowing and fun staff.
