On the way North towards Playa Del Carmen on HWY 307. . Xcacel is a turtle sanctuary and a small cenote, you can go there and just chill out all day and snorkel. Just keep in mind there is nothing there, no shops, no restaurants, no bars, just beautiful sun, sand and sea. You have a to a small "donation" to enter but once you are in you visit the cenote and spend all day on the beach, it's not usually that crowded and the view is amazing! You will want to pack your snacks and drinks. They usually have people on the beach offering to rent you umbrellas. Closed during turtle season. Turtle Beach (Real Name Xcacel or Xcacelito): To get to Turtle Beach, travel N on Hwy 307 (Main Street Tulum), and you will leave Tulum. Stay on Hwy 307 for about 10 minutes as you are headed out of town. As you are about 1.5 miles past Xel - Ha Aquatic Marina Park on the highway, Xcacelito is on the right-hand side of the street and is marked by a medium size blue and white banner sign that has a sea turtle on it and the Maya names “Xcacel Xcacelito”. When you see the sign, make a right hand turn down a dirt road. If you get to the Chemuyil overpass exit on HWY 307 from Tulum you have gone too far. The entrance to the beach is just before the Chemuyil overpass. There is also a cenote (spring) you can explore, which is a really cool jungle walk that opens up into a crystal-clear spring surrounded by mangroves.

No words to describe it, still virgin, there is nothing in there, only sun, sand and a huge sea just for you. This place is protected because turtles spawn there. It’s completely amazing.
