Located adjacent to Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, this spacious state-of-the-art museum covers an area of 137,000 square feet that efficiently accommodates the large collection of original items, interactive exhibits, and multi-media displays.
Impressive museum located next to the Nashville Farmer’s Market. Free admission and parking. (Visit on a weekday when there isn’t a special event or Nashville Sounds game happening.)
Truly a modern museum. No revisionist history here. Easily spend a full day.
Hours: Monday (closed), Tue-Sat 10am- 5pm, Sun 1pm-5pm. Museum completely free – you can visit to learn more about the history of the state of Tennessee and to view historic artifacts
The Tennessee State Museum is a large museum in Nashville depicting the history of the U.S. state of Tennessee. The current facility opened on October 4, 2018, at the corner of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Jefferson Street at the foot of Capitol Hill by the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.
