This beautiful 3 store restaurant just opened in april 2018. It is specialized in fish and shellfish, but you can also eat simpel dishes as pasta or just drink a cup of coffee, after shopping.

The rich history of Meddens begins in 1830. The Meddens family came from Groningen. The company was at that time specialised in the manufacture of corsets. After a trip to Paris, Bernard I. Meddens, together with his father, opened a ' herenkleding warehouse ' in the Hoogstraat in Rotterdam on 1 May 1830. Nouveautés from Paris fell in the taste of the Dutch public. In 1899 Meddens opened the second business at a beautiful point in the Haagse Binnenstad, between Lange Pooten and Spuistraat. When Jan Giesbers, a cousin of Meddens, took office in 1923 as director, branches were joined in Amsterdam, Arnhem, Leidschendam and Hilversum. Meddens proved her resilience during the bombardment of Rotterdam in 1940, leaving the ruined building and immediately opening an emergency building on the new Binnenweg in Rotterdam. On 1 May 1980 Meddens, after 150 years, got the predicate ' royal ' and had the fashion house include an honorable crown in her logo. Meddens is the new hotspot of Hilversum. With a total area of 600 m2 spread over several floors with a terrace of 250 m2, Meddens offers enough space for an accessible hospitality concept where everyone will feel at home. Meddens is tough, industrial and vintage with a touch of New York Style, but with a warm and accessible look. With the Bar & Kitchen concept, we want to create the ideal combination of drinks and food, where the large central bar, suitable for hikers and eaters, will play an important role. Meddens is an all-day catering company: lunch, drinks and dinner. The map shows 70% fish from Fruit de mer to fish & chips with various choices in meat and vegetarian dishes. These dishes are freshly prepared by a team of top chefs in an open kitchen, which creates a huge food experience. This food experience of daily freshly delivered food combined with fine wines in a beautiful ambiance will provide everyone with a great restaurant experience.
