Famous castle Karlštejn used to be the residence of Bohemian king and Holy Roman Emperior Charles IV. If you travel on car, this place is really worth visiting.

A little bit further from Prague, but definitely worth visiting. The walk up to the castle is quite steep. Guided tours in different languages with interesting facts about Czech history.
