Informazioni su questo luogo
Texas French Bread has been baking artisan breads, pastries, and desserts from scratch since 1981. Furthermore, it’s a bistro that combines traditional French country and Mediterranean cooking. Devoted to the style of Alice Waters, the team here looks to what’s fresh, simple, nutritious, and beautiful, serving ingredients at their peak. Set in a charming, 80-year-old brick building, the atmosphere is bright and sunny during the day and elegant and candlelit come night.

Texas French Bread is a cozy neighborhood bakery/cafe that serves bistro style locally sourced food. Great wine list and a pretty outdoor patio area. Stop in for breakfast/lunch or enjoy a nice dinner. Or check out their weekend brunch.

Open early mornings for breakfast and lunch, but now serving dinner Tuesday-Saturday, based on fresh local ingredients and their homemade breads (you can buy them by the loaf too). Started by a friend’s mother out of her house in 1981, but has come full circle and is now operated by her 40+ year…

“Can’t vouch for it, but have heard good things. It’s a tiny spot in a tiny strip center. Laura Bush reportedly missed it so much when they left Texas for the presidency that she had the chefs come to the White House on occasion.”

“Belgian/French cuisine. Amazing beer selection. Calm, sophisticated atmosphere. There's a BBQ spot next door and you can bring that with you to the Hopfields patio to accompany one of their drinks!”

“$1 cup of coffee but don't ask for a latte or espresso. They sell coffee beans and ground coffee. They roast their own beans. Fresh coffee for $1 per cup is a steal.”

“My favorite local taco joint. Don’t miss the frontera fundido sirloin, shrimp taco, or queso. Their dona hot sauce is a must. ”

“An Austin Icon. Greasy burger joint in operation just off the UT Campus since 1926. It’s a dive, but it’s good! Excellent old-fashioned limeades and malts. ”
