Originally the Fisherman first made its mark in the 1980s as the popular “Yankee Fisherman” a bustling seafood restaurant run by the gregarious restauranteur James P. Woviotis - founder and chef of the historic steak house Ye Olde Tavern on Bank Street in New London, CT. This lively seafood house has catered to the local shoreline residents of Noank, Groton Long Point and Summer renters and tourists in the area for 40 years. Idyllically located on Palmer cove and Fishers Island Sound, the views and food are guaranteed to make your experience special. Featuring local and global cuisines such as local farm raised oysters, chowders, baked fish dishes, fish and chips, crab cakes, buttered hot lobster rolls, and a variety of yummy fusion items like Lobster Cannelloni, Basil Pesto Shrimp Pizzetta, Thai Red Curry and Coconut Sea Scallops, Veal Ragout Bolognese, Grill Seared Ahi Tuna salad and more.
