Waimea Canyon is a long drive from up here in Princeville, but you won't regret going to see it! There are lookouts from the roads, lookouts requiring a bit of walking, as well as easy to moderate hikes to some gorgeous lookouts. We highly recommend spending a day on that side of the island and…
Waimea Canyon, also known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Located on the western side of Kauaʻi.
It's the Grand Canyon of the Pacific! Our favorite hike there is to Waipoo Falls, along the Canyon Trail, where you are in the canyon, with amazing views, and can swim in a small waterfall pond, and stand at the top of Waipoo Falls, a cascading 800 foot waterfall.
Great hikes, easy too difficult. Check out a local guidebook for specific trails. We love the Waipo'o Falls trail, which winds along the edge of Waimea Canyon, ending up at the upper waterfall with a swimming pool at its base. Awesome!

“It combines the campy flavor of old Hawaii with historical local traditions. Come early and watch the kalua pig being lifted from the pit. Then experience a traditional Hawaiian feast, while you watch an eye-popping Polynesian show with hula dancers, Tahitian dancers, and fire dancers!”

“Historic and beautifully preserved plantation homestead - really takes you back to an earlier era on Kauai. A very comprehensive tour is offered, and it's well worth the time.”
