The Riwaka river begins here as it flows out from under the limestone mountains. Crystal clear, ice cold water and a short walk through native bush.

A short 15 min drive from the beachouse and you will find the Riwaka Resurgence. The water travels from under the Takaka hills through a network of caves and comes out at these pools. This activity is often a good option if the weather isn’t great for the beach.

This is a very special place. The Riwaka river comes straight out of the mountains. The water is crystal clear but freezing cold. Go for a swim if you dare...The scenery is very beautiful with easy access and nice picknic areas.

Amazing place to visit, lovely bush and crystal clear water coming from the Takaka Hill. Only a small walk in the bush but well worth the visit
