[1 of the Top 10 Things to See and Do in the SF Bay Area] [Alameda] Immediately across the street from the Guest House. Relax by taking a walk or sitting quietly here. Sunsets are often amazing.

Alameda - Alameda’s beach and parks are full of families on the weekends. A nice walking path along the beach is a fun way to see some of our island.

This beach is a great place to cycle to. You can cycle quite a long way along the shore in either direction.

“Great little Tiki Bar which transports you to Tahiti. Careful, the drinks are strong!”

Ristorante italiano
“[Alameda] Walkable from the Guest House, about 15 minutes. A great place for a special occasion. Chef owned--if you sit at the bar you can often talk to the chef/owner! Not cheap.”

Beach
“5 minute walk to this beautiful beach. Great for kids as you can wade out pretty far before it gets deep and no current to speak of. ”

History Museum
“Tour the WWII-era aircraft carrier that was later used to recover the Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 astronauts as they returned from the moon. The Hornet's namesake, USS Hornet (CV-8), left from these docks in 1942 carrying the bombers that retaliated against Tokyo for the raid on Pearl Harbor.”

Piccolo bar
“[Alameda] Alameda doesn't have many bars. This is the one I recommend. For other nearby nightlife, I suggest going to Jack London Square (listed in neighborhoods section), or head over to San Francisco.”
