My favorite place for lunch, dinner, drinks and actually for breakfast too. Good food, amazing interior design, affordable and closed to my favorite museum "Micropia". It's close to Artis zoo, about 6 minutes from the house. For dinner in the weekend I would make a reservation.

The area used to be part of the Dutch Marines, is just open last year to the public. It has a lovely view over the Eastern Dock and a fire place.

If you are into beer the local beer brewery ‘Brouwerij 't IJ’ is a special treat. Its located in an old wind mill building has good selection of beer. The walk/bike there is magical if go through the ‘Entrepotdok’ neighborhood, where the ships hangers used to be, which is now a living area.

For quick groceries we go to the "Spar" supermarket. Its small and a bit more expensive, but it's just across the street. You cross the big road in front of the house and it will be on the left side.

On Saturday’s there is a biological farmer's market on the Nieuwmarkt. My personal favorite spot for my weekly veggies. It has good quality of vegetables fruits and other bio-products for affordable price.

It's a park but it also has a lot of great cafes and restaurants. It used to be an industrial area and now it's all green and shinny.
